Pardon my lack-of-context. I was somewhat undetectably tongue-in-cheek with the response but, at the same time, it was also a reference for not throwing out the baby with the bath-water. Just so you know, absolutely every U.S. President has had multiple parallels with Hitler, but Liberals/Democrats only seem to see it in anything that remotely resembles a Conservative/Republican, whilst Republicans/Conservatives are easily duped/deceived into believing or accepting government-information that claims to be Republican/Conservative (boy was that Iraq-war and 9/11 incident a gigantic fraud-campaign against the entire world-population), and those so-called «Crazy & Insane, Lunatic Tin-Foil Hat-Wearing so-called Mentally Ill Nut-Case Conspiracy Theorists» like myself have been trying to tell BOTH of you Liberals and Conservatives and Republicans and Democrats that you guys are ALL brain-washed into a Religion called Statism.

So the second response this topic gets is basically "Oh Hitler wasn't so bad." I would like to think it could only go up from here but from they way things have been lately I'm just not so convinced.

And about 1933 Germany. No one knew Hitler was going to try and exterminate the Jews yet. He didn't just start by saying "Kill the Jews." No he took power gradually by exploiting peoples' fear of "the other." Back then it was the Jews, Gypsies and Gays, Now it's Muslims, Mexicans and Transsexuals. He got people to believe these groups were the enemies and Trump and the Republicans are trying to do it now. So when people are comparing our our country to Nazi Germany they are generally talking about Germany in the early to mid 1930's not 1941 when the genocide was well in progress.

Just look at how well Trump matches the fourteen points of fascism.
http://www.rense.com/general37/char.htm

I do consider Rense to be a «credible» source of information but, as far as I could tell, the U.S. was already fascist ever since the PATRIOT Act and probably even before that signal to give the OK for social-masturbation at the air-ports in the name of security (God help us if some CIA-planted mind-controlled operative decides to shove a stick of dynamite up his ass whilst passing through a security check-point).

Also, perhaps with the exception of Vladimir Putin, just about all world-leaders are highly spirit-possessed. Anything that any U.S. President does, when it aligns and displays signs of being a corporate-dictatorship that resembles history, does not surprise me (and you have to ask yourself, why is it always the exact same methods/actions/protocols as all of the previous generations/societies/civilisations that engaged in the exact same self-destructive-behaviours, and if you know how «looping» works in the after-life, spirit-possession is not a far-fetched explanation for exactly what is going on in the world right now, for indeed there are cases of well-documented para-normal research that point to discarnate people having an influence over the actions of the still-embodied, many times without realisation, thus the exact same phenomena or discarnate-intelligences are likely or perhaps even definitely controlling every president or world-leader throughout all of history).

P.S.: The Messiah is back on Earth if he hasn't passed away yet. His web-site is at The Testament of Truth.

Ban-Dodger,

Yeah you lost me with the whole "both sides do it argument." Anyone who says this about what is happening is not paying attention. Identifying the Republican party as a bigger threat than the Democrats does not mean that I've been brainwashed. And these are not normal times. It isn't just the usual people drawing comparisons anymore.

I will agree though that many of the things that have happened since '01 in particular pushed us towards fascism. Trump has just put it on steroids.

We ignore the warning signs of fascism at our own peril.

"In time of actual war, great discretionary powers are constantly given to the Executive Magistrate. Constant apprehension of War, has the same tendency to render the head too large for the body. A standing military force, with an overgrown Executive will not long be safe companions to liberty. The means of defence agst. foreign danger, have been always the instruments of tyranny at home. Among the Romans it was a standing maxim to excite a war, whenever a revolt was apprehended. Throughout all Europe, the armies kept up under the pretext of defending, have enslaved the people." [James Madison]
when fascism came to America, It was draped in a flag and carrying a cross. it is here.

He needs to check his privilege. In case he hasn't read the prophesies, he is thought to be the pope who is/or who will be helping the anti-Christ on Jesus' return, so he has no room to talk.

All legitimate modern theologians agree the Antichrist was a reference to the Roman Emperor Nero.

I think Trump got that last line mixed up.

^^^^Every instance of totalitarianism in history... has been implemented by a party or movement that divides the population into a productive class and a parasite class. [can't find which person originally said that]

I think a big difference between 1933 and now is, back in 1933, Hitler wasn't being mentioned every second 24/7. Everybody is Hitler, Hitler is everywhere, look out here comes Hitler.

Sometime the one cry wolf is right. In that case it's not only the usual of peoples who don't know what they talking about that throw the Hitler accusation, but also those who know what they talking about that generally don't throw such accusation.
What would it take for you to admit that someone is a fascist and could be a new Hitler? It's naive to think it can't happen and that any such accusation is wrong; mankind wasn't changed and even with all the effort made in education is still as stupid as ever. (Case in point: reality TV) So what would it take? If you can't answer that then you have no business to call "hysterical" peoples throwing such accusation, particularly if they are educated, intelligent and had lived under fascism, like the current pope.

Well what I said is that there is nothing new about this. There have been dozens of leaders erroneously compared to Hitler since Hitler, along with the decades long suspicion/fear that Hitler is going to return. Many have been touted as the next Hitler before Trump and many will be touted as the next Hitler after Trump. I guess what it would take is something beyond or more substantial than the repetitive cycle of concluding that so-in-so is the next Hitler, or the repetitive cycle of concluding that the current political situation will breed a new Hitler.

Now there have been quite a few dictators and despots other than Hitler. Hitler was a specific individual who lived in a specific period of time where a specific chain of events took place. The factors that made Hitler into Hitler has to be taken into consideration. How he was raised, what his parents were like, what his home life was like, what sort of school he went to, his experiences in school, what he did as soon as he became an adult. Or put more simply, does Donald Trump's biography match Hitlers up to the point of becoming an adult? Once again, you are talking about a very specific individual named Adolf Hitler, so in order for someone to be another Adolf Hitler, there would have to be matching parallels in their upbringing that shaped the man to be. All of the conditions would have to be the same to produce a duplicate of an individual.

Now if people are talking about a fascist dictator in general, that's one thing. But what they are talking about is the duplication of a very specific individual, who had a very specific background, who lived in a specific time in history where a very specific chain of events took place.

So these factors existing are what it would take for me to "admit someone could be a new Hitler". And those factors do not exist in Donald Trump. His parentage and upbringing alone in no way match that of Adolf Hitler. So it would be impossible for Donald Trump to be a new Adolf Hitler.

Could Donald Trump be a fascist? Yes. Could he become a dictator? Yes. Could he be a new Adolf Hitler? No.

Not reassuring in the least, then.

I think the possibility is somewhat undeniable. The likelihood however is another matter.

And yet there's been a long line of people suspected of being the Antichrist for the last two thousand years.

Including every Pope of course. For instance if you take the inscription on the Pope's crown and factor in the letters that correspond to a Roman numeral, it adds up to 666, which is proof that the Pope is the Antichrist.

As I said, no legitimate scholar has ever said such a thing.

Likewise I'd like to see a legitimate scholar (or the equivalent thereof) saying Donald Trump is the next Adolf Hitler.

I'm talking about theological scholars.

I understand. That's why I said equivalent thereof. A recognized legitimate expert in the field. Although I'm not sure what field would apply to concluding Trump is the new Hitler. Political scientist? Historian? Sociologist? All of those combined and maybe more?
