We want a full investigation by the FBI, the congressional committees, and probably a special prosecutor.

It's bad to have the US military cooperate with the Russian military until the Russian military stops being a gang of thugs. We have problem soldiers and units, and lots of zealots, but we don't make it a policy to terrorize the civilian population and engage in ethnic cleansing. Russia does.

Trump and his supporters admire that style of war, it seems. I think it does terrible things to people, and cannot support a military that would demand that of soldiers or encourage their worst impulses in that way.

You are ignorant of what America has done/currently does and who we have relations with, you lack respect and have a programed hatred a country & people that you were indoctrinated as American child during the Cold War to hate as evil. There is nothing illegal about a normalization of relations with Russia, what do you think your witch hunt would find? Trump is commander in chief in chief as elected president, he gets to ultimate make the military decision on who we ally ourselves with.

Again with the baseless accusations? I thought we had gotten past that.

I'm not sure what Trump hopes to gain from a friendly relationship with Russia. It would be great for their economy if the sanctions were lifted, but what does the States get out of it?

America and the world have everything the gain from friendly relations with Russia and incorporating them into the Western alliance because what is the alternative? Remember 90% of the worlds nuclear weapons belong the Russia and America, remember what the Cold War has like and the effects it had on the globe. We are fighting the same war against terrorism so there exists a rare opportunity to forge the bonds of brotherhood between our most powerful nations to achieve our shared interests. What is the point of getting on a moral pedestal with Russia when we do not hold even our allies or ourselves to the same standard?

Well, the pee fetish video won't be released, which will make Trump overjoyed.
For Putin's part, Russia will possibly return to world power status, while America, which he blames for Russia's downfall, will be Putin's b*tch.

Are you saying that America should become friendly with Russia so that Russia doesn't bomb the States? I really think you are overestimating Russian power.

No, because human civilization has better more important things to do than having another 50 year long pissing contest with the ever present risk of imminent doom between the world's two strongest powers. I don't fear Russia at all, they pose ZERO threat to the United States which is why I think friendship is both possible but also mutually beneficial.

Yeah, I don't think our intelligence agencies should be trying to play cat-and-mouse games with the President. If they've got evidence that either Trump or anyone else at the top of the US government is working for a foreign government, they should turn over the evidence to the appropriate House and Senate committees.

As much as I dislike Trump, he is the lawfully elected President of the United States and thus in charge of the executive branch.

That's such a great sentiment. And likewise that's what I'm saying. It seems like people let their hatred completely blind them from thinking objectively and it's scary. This whole matter from our intelligence agencies has seemed like a bunch of smoke and mirrors nonsense. And people are supposed to trust that? As far as I know, intelligence agencies have never screwed around like this regarding legitimate information.

It seems like some people want to live in a fantasy world of rumor and innuendo, rather than one of facts and evidence. There's no real evidence that Russia is out to get us (quite the contrary). There's no real evidence of secret tapes. There's no real evidence of a secret relationship between Trump and Putin. But it seems like some people can't allow themselves to apply critical thinking. It seems like they would rather wallow in sensationalism.

Or it could be that you guys on the right are ignoring the obvious due to your infatuation with the human Cheeto.

I'm not on the right or infatuated with the human Cheeto. I was not raised by Republicans/conservatives and I grew up in a blue state and moved to an even bluer state. I do not read/watch Fox or Drudge or Brietbart et al. The only news I pay any heed to is the BBC. My opinions are based solely on my own observations in which I try to be as objective as possible.

Do you have any criticisms of Trump or Putin, then?

Speaking of Russian/Trump chicanery: Michael Flynn's resigned just tonight. Gotta wonder if carrot head had pressured him to fall on his sword.

I've already posted that I think the ban was a bad idea and was poorly implemented. But the thing is, even if I found no fault in Trump or Putin, that would be me making that decision, rather than letting the right or the left or Fox or CNN etc make it for me. The pattern is usually that I draw a conclusion on my own and then find out afterwords that others have also drawn the same conclusion.
