What we should always have known, now we have the evidence.

Has this been confirmed outside of Wikileaks?

Wikileaks has never published falsified information, Edward Snowden said that he believes it to be authentic.

here's a link to the times story if it helps you digest it

But they certainly are particular about who and what they investigate and uncover, which shows they are definitely one sided.

This is not evidence, in any sense. If Wikileaks wanted to destroy the CIA, and could, the leaks would show operations using these tools on US soil. We can debate the policy decisions and structural factors that drive their investigations and operations, but they have the legal authority to do a lot of things in a lot of other places. I don't want dark sites or subcontracted torture, myself, even though I don't bring it up in every discussion. Alleging without evidence that they have violated the law is another matter. Let's see it, if you have found it. I fully expect you to passionately search for it just like I would. I also don't expect you to find it.

Violating the law with regard to Trump for full credit.

Indeed; where are the revelations about such surveillance from China, Russia and other important countries? That they wouldn't try to put such systems in places don't make sense.

Actually part of the point of this revelation is the proliferation of these CIA hacking tools which are surely now in the hands of foreign governments and criminals now. They found vulnerabilities and didn't tell the tech companies, if they can find it out then so can other people so it is likely they enabled cyber attacks to happen because of this. No, it's not okay that the CIA created a domestic surveillance program that rivaled or even exceeded the NSA's.

I'm not sure it's possible to exceed capturing and storing literally every electronic wave used for communication.

When I was complaining about the bipartisan legislation to exculpate the communications companies for illegally sharing information with the NSA, I recall lots of people saying it had to be done to guarantee that they would cooperate with the government in the future. I didn't like that argument then, and look what it's led to.

Industry has apparently continued to operate to sell us products with undisclosed flaws. Fortunately for them, it could soon get harder to form a class action to sue, a long-standing goal of VP Pence.

Bias != false. I don't think they are biased either. They rely on others to leak them documents and they publish them. The people who provide them documents may have a bias in which documents they give them however. So unless they are hiding a trove of documents they didn't want to publish, it would be a hard assertion to prove.

Something I'd like to make highlight of is the CIA program to mask and manipulate the forensics of the hacking so to make it appear to be the work of a foreign intelligence service, few places might relevant.

You mean when considering certain allegations that had been made the last few months.

It appears to have been confirmed by the BBC ( http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-33106044 ). U.S. government spied on Germany. German government spied on United States. And, so it went.

The proliferation of these tools make it impossible to say who is really behind any hacking, you cannot say definitively who is behind it with that information alone. I really do love Julian Assange since Wikileaks confirms so much of what I already knew to be true, it seems clear that the Obama administration greatly expanded cyber warfare capabilities and created an all encompassing surveillance state. I suspect they can basically can go back in time and recover information from almost any electronic communication, they're not actively spying on everyone since that's too many people to keep track of but they filter and capture everything so with the right information they can browse your history so to speak. They are keywords and phrases they have set aside for markers, certain websites, certain countries, etc that the look thru. With as much datamining and the almost complete complicity of the big tech companies with the government, they can make a database with profiles for millions of people. This is Big Brother as it gets!

I agree, this is highly concerning.
