Putting aside bored aliens

lets give some credit to the creators of some of these patterns

I did to, and it looked really sloppy afterwards not like some of the ones I've seen pictures of.

Seems like it would take a long time for people to create one of the more elaborate ones, not sure how that could be done in a single day or night at least not without a lot of people. How do that many people sneak onto a crop field create an elaborate crop circle design and sneak away without ever being noticed?

as far as I know the documentary didn't address that, just showed people could make a crude and small crop circle fairly easily.

I wish I could say I wasn't so cynical as to believe in magic in the world, whether it be crop circles or Big Foot, but I have to error on the side of doubt in most cases.

What mystifies me is why go to the effort to create complex geometric shapes in the middle of the night in pitch dark??
But then of course we can safely assume no alien would be crazy enough to create this

One well executed crop circle was emblazoned with the message "we are not alone". Real aliens who had somehow learned to speak English would have emblazoned it with "you are not alone". So that one was probably of strictly amateur Earthling creation.

Or an alien who supports Trump

Some people, I suppose, are dedicated to carrying on the hoax.

And rightly so. I believe in spirits for instance and have experienced them, but it's healthy to be cynical as there are a lot of fakes (like most psychics) out there.

The plains states are speckled with crop circles. Do you suppose they could all be aliens? 8O

Same here. I have fun with researching stuff like that, and I have even had "paranormal" experiences, but it's all just mainly pretend stuff to me. Maybe whatever is real, but most likely not.

Every Friday night, my wife and I get a bunch of beer, and watch those ridiculous Big Foot/ghost/monster pseudo-documentaries. It's easy to spot where someone has either just experienced sleep paralysis and all the hallucinations associated with that phenomenon, and who is just obviously lying.

I used to watch MonsterQuest on History.

But after a while you realize that each episode is gonna be the same shaggy dog story.

They always find an actual physical specimen of ...the creature (whatever creature is featured). A piece of hair left on the barbed wire fence by the...black panther of south England, the Florida Skunk Ape, the Chupabara , or whatever subspecies of big foot. And then they interview nine zillion more eye witnessness, and have nine zillion commercials, all of the while teasing you that the RESULTS of the LAB TEST of that hair sample are coming up next.

Finally at the last moment of the show they give the lab results. The results are always "non organic synthetic fibers, probably from the carpet of an automobile".

After a while it dawns on you that if they HAD found something else (like "this fur comes from an as of yet undiscovered primate living in North America!") it would already have been front page news a year before the episode was even aired.

We loved watching that show.

I think it's good to keep an open mind about the nature of the universe (and what's in it) otherwise we sound like the folks who used persecute (back in the day) scientists who dared mention the earth is round, life evolved from simple single celled organisms and that the earth goes around the sun...

Nope even sloppier, but that one is pretty sloppy as well....looks like someone drove around with a harvesting tractor while drunk.

UFO addicts love to think these circles are made by Aliens, but they are not. There is not one piece of solid evidence that the Earth was every visited by Aliens from another star system.

There is not one piece of solid evidence earth wasn't ever visited by aliens from another star system either.

As for crop circles its certainly possible humans collaborate to make them...I have a hard time believing a single person could make one as quickly as they allegedly show up.

Actually if you look carefully it's an abstract portrait of Squidward
