Breitbart News Insane Conspiracy Theory
Except for you and cyberdad talking about it all the time, I wouldn't even know Breitbart exists. It never gets mentioned or surfaces anywhere I go on the internet.
They love Breibart News. They also love Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Alex Jones. They are the source of the anger, hatred, and discontent that fuels them. I sometimes think they would die without it the same way people die of malnutrition.
I can't speak for others but for me it's not these individuals (Limbaugh, Trump and others) who basically reflect the most selfish self-centred spectrum of human section of society (lets face it they don't even try to hide the way they are)
For me it's the masses of people who think they somehow have something in common with these opportunists. It's a realisation that whatever strides we make as individuals - large swathes of the population like to pretend they are "aspiring bourgeoisie"...metaphorically large bags of hot air...not much has actually changed from when Karl Marx wrote Das Kapital...Western European society is made up of fools who think attaining wealth and status at any cost is the pinnacle of human achievement. Damn education, public health, environment, stewardship of the earth, equality of mankind and other stuff conveniently labelled PC leftist "crap"
If it hasn't already been said a million times - electing Donald Trump as leader of the "free world" makes me embarrassed to be a human being..

I agree. It's if they regard Ayn Rand as God's prophet of selfishness, except Rand would hold them in contempt for believing in God. And when those business elites they are so worshipful of sends their jobs overseas, or cuts wages or benefits, it's not the fault of said elites, but rather, they scapegoat those who are worse off them themselves, whether the scapegoated are immigrants - legal and illegal - accused of "stealing" American jobs, or blacks accused of taking jobs due to affirmative action, or the needy "stealing through taxes" by depending on public assistance.

Trump got elected largely in part by the climate created by the left. Unless he really screws the pooch on his first term he'll get a second term. You reap what you sow.

I would have forgotten about the old hag if certain people didnt always insist on digging her her up. I've rarely if ever heard a real life conservaive talk about Rand.
Do any of you actually know any conservatives??

Yes, I do know conservatives very well, as I go to church with them.
And your current sphincter of the house, Paul Ryan, had built his whole political philosophy on Ayn Rand's ideology, but only backed away from her when he realized her atheism was offensive to the fundies and holy rollers you righties court.
But just how are progressives responsible for Trump being elected? Seriously, now. Are you talking about standing up for minority rights allegedly at the expense of whites? For so called political correctness? Political correctness can sometimes be taken to extremes, but for the most part, it's just respecting people. even if that means watching what you say. For standing up for gay people to get married, at the risk of raising the ire of homophobes who resent not being able to deny gays service at public businesses? For standing up for transgender people who just want to sh*t and piss where they please? And no, trans women are not going into women's restrooms to molest little girls. For insisting that the government has a responsibility to care for the poor and disabled, even if you righties think the gubment has no right to tax you? I'd rather lose an election or two than to lose my idealism and vote for your orange messiah, whose hair was made out of the clippings after they shaved Boris Johnson in Britain.
(If that last went over your head, I'll explain: Boris Johnson looks like a shaved orangutan.)

Like with Breitbart, the only time I hear Ayn Rand brought up is from them. I don't mean just on WP but elsewhere as well. It's like they're indoctrinated.

1. By propping up Hillary as a candidate
2. Their highhanded arrogance toward the voters
Political correctness is about silencing expression and opinion. It's more of a form of bullying than respect.
So where are all these businesses that are denying business to gays? Is it really the epidemic you make it out to be? I know where this is going and I still stand behind the business owner's right to refuse service to anyone.
People are within their rights to feel uncomfortable with those not exactly of thier gender using the bathroom with them.
Why not just bootstrap yourself up a few notches and not worry about it so much? Besides, I've stated my feelings on taxation and social safety nets enough over the years. It's only those of you who want to use that net as a hammock that have issues.

Cry all you want but you're still going to have the orangutan in office for 4-8 years. Just think, you could be in your late 50's before he leaves office. To add to that, another republican could take his place for the next 4-8 years.

No it's supposed to mean that they supposedly have a phobia that they supposedly need to evolve beyond.
I wonder what the next thing they're supposed to evolve beyond is going to be?
And the thing after that.
I don't mind if a transsexual "man to woman" uses the ladies' room.
The problem arises when somebody who is blatantly "a man" takes advantage of the rule allowing anybody to use the bathroom of any gender. What purpose, other than a voyeuristic purpose, would be served by allowing such men into the ladies' room?

Well, I "evolve" at my own speed if I decide to evolve at all.

Sure, the Dems screwed the pooch by running Clinton, screwing over Bernie, and convincing Biden to stay out of the race.
Sure, liberals have been high handed with the voters, but at least they're honest. The right holds the masses in contempt, but lie to them about how they care about them - - till they win their elections.
Nobody should be told they can't say something, but if what they're saying is abhorrently racist, classist, or homophobic/transphobic, then the rest of us have not only the right but the duty to speak out against them.
Why not just deny service to blacks, or Muslims, or Jews? It's their right, isn't it? well, no, it's not, as a business open to the public must include everyone, unless a customer causes trouble with others, steals, or offers some other valid reason for being denied service. But none of those reasons include who you love, or just want to have a one nighter with. And yes, plenty of businesses have denied service to gays - the right makes heroes out of them and their bigotry.
White people used to feel uncomfortable sharing the same restroom with blacks. Those whites had to get over it. Same with this case.
Because I feel for people who don't have it nearly as good as me. Then again, the right has developed both religious and political ideologies to justify not just holding the poor in contempt, but with being okay with leaving them to die.

Please cite your source for this claim.
I go by CNN. Then again, that might mean little if you think CNN is fake news.

Just an update on Trump's recent moves on the environment
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/28/clim ... .html?_r=0
There has been a massive backlash against Trump's environmental policies
Overnight, Trump signed an executive order to scrap Obama-era climate change regulations he says are hindering oil drillers and coal miners.
The new executive order seeks to suspend, rescind or flag for review more than a half-dozen measures in an effort to boost domestic energy production in the form of fossil fuels.
Gina McCarthy, former EPA administrator under the Obama administration, told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour that President Trump’s executive order on climate “sends a horrible signal”.
Ms McCarthy said 70 per cent of Americans had accepted climate change is “happening”.
Democrat congressman Jim McGovern described Trump as a “danger to our planet and threat to our culture”.
