Obamacare failed to be repealed by both Democrats and Republicans.
That much is true.

Something has to be done for people like Ezra's aunt, who is caught in the middle.

Anybody who can solve this would prove to be a great hero.

Whether conservative, liberal, whatever.

Obamacare wasn't good. Neither was the Republican plan.

Reducing deductibles should be the highest priority.

And .. Ezra's aunt must pay the individual mandate penalty of $695 if she doesn't get insurance.

It is this coercive mandate that belies everything promoting Obamacare. If it was so "affordable," why punish people who don't want to be forced into accepting it?

There's only one of two options now

1. Medicare for everybody

Or

2. Everyone loses coverage

option 1 would be the sensible choice, except for the fact NOBODY in Washington has any kind of common sense, never did have any common sense, and never will have any common sense.

Only because they heartlessly thought it was still pampered poor people too much.

And many others. I wonder how much extra cash the government will rake in this year?

It's what the rest of the industrialized world has, so that no one goes without health care.

Single-payer is basically socialized medicine.
Socialized, as in Socialist.

Ronald Reagan was a great American president, a great Republican Conservative.
And here's what Ronald Reagan had to say about it, in his own words.
(Hint: Socialized medicine is bad news.)

YouTube video below: Contains audio of Ronald Reagan speaking out against socialized medicine.

Reagan was a B movie actor, and a f*ching idiot. His Reagan Revolution spelled the beginning of the end for a middle class that had encompassed most americans, and with that, creating the widening class divide of today, and the continuing loss of social equality. He had allowed American business to desert their workers for outsourcing off American shores, for the erosion of workers rights and labor unions, which led to diminishing wages and benefits.
Y'know, there might not be a need for socialized medicine if Reagan, with his ideology based on Social Darwinism, hadn't have put most of the American people on a downward spiral. That, and if business people actually did their part, and hired people in need of work, with good wages and benefits, instead of seeing business as a get rich quick scheme, and their workers as commodities, people could afford medical care without the government providing it.

History shows man is hardly good. There's something wrong in human nature; call it original sin if you like.
And sure, what is right will eventually prevail - - that's why Obamacare still stands.
