Wow it didn't take this thread long to fall into the hands of delusionaries.

There's really not much point trying to have a sensible conversation about Trump on this site.

Yeah, people too delusional to believe in something that has absolutely no empirical evidence whatsoever to back it up.

They must be the heathens the bible is talking about in 2 Thessalonians 2:11 "For this reason God sends them a strong delusion so that they will believe what is false".

They lack faith; the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen (Hebrews 11:1).

Err... except for the fact that Trump just admitted it on twitter!

Quote:
U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday defended his decision to disclose information to Russian officials during a White House meeting last week, saying he had an "absolute right" to share "facts pertaining to terrorism and airline flight safety."

The president took to Twitter to counter a torrent of criticism, including from his fellow Republicans, after reports that he had revealed highly classified information about a planned Islamic State operation.

Two U.S. officials said Trump shared the intelligence, supplied by a U.S. ally in the fight against the militant group, with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak during a meeting last Wednesday.

Read the McMaster statement

Quote:
“The story that came out tonight, as reported, is false,” said McMaster. “The president and the foreign minister reviewed a range of common threats to our two countries, including threats to civil aviation. At no time, at no time, were intelligence sources or methods discussed, and the president did not disclose any military operations that were not already publicly known.”

Lying media will twist words to mean anything, the maliciousness at this point is downright seditious. Trump is the President, he is the Commander-in-Chief, this is what the job is. The media working as an opposition force will frame everything in the most scandalized sensationalist light, it's not news or journalism at this point.

Once again, despite the anti-Russian xenophobia, there is nothing wrong with working with them in furthering our shared interest in defeating Islamic terrorism. Why would anybody oppose that? Why do you support ISIS?

The info that he shared COMPROMISED intelligence sources and methods. You're just playing semantics games because you cannot defend the incredibly stupid and irresponsible actions of the president.

I don't support ISIS, but I DO support our REAL ALLIES which the president has betrayed.

And, I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT support aiding the Russian thugocracy run by murdering Vladimir Putin, who has done NOTHING to fight ISIS, but has enabled the Syrian regime to commit war crimes against its own people.

...not to mention the fact that Russia is a menace to its neighbors (see Ukraine) and a direct threat TO OUR NATO allies.

The better question is why do you support an incompetent Russian stooge, and want to appease an international criminal like Vladimir Putin at the expense of US national security?

Answer that, comrade.

To conflate a non-supporter of Russia with a supporter of ISIS is screwy reasoning.

I want ISIS blown to smithereens---but I don't believe we necessarily need Russia to accomplish this goal.

And yes.....there is mounting evidence that Assad is committing at least "mass murder," if not "genocide."

Glad to know you were in the room and know better than the National Security Adviser & Secretary of State, your wishful think is rotting your skills at critical thinking. Not what happened, not illegal even if it did, you are seriously twisting words to mean the opposite of what they mean. You don't even know what you're talking about with our 'real allies', who? What was compromised? You know nothing but you're willing to buy with absolute faith these ridiculous anonymous unsourced assertions?

Your outrage is so feigned and insincere, what were you saying when it was revealed when Obama was spying on our allies abroad? Where was your outrage when it was revealed that Hillary Clinton COMPROMISED intelligence sources and methods when she ran the State Department out of unsecured server in her basement? What happens in Russia is Russia's business, that is true about our relationships with our close allies Turkey & Saudi Arabia is it not? A hint by the way, if we're talking about allies with 'access to the inner workings of ISIS' then it is probably Turkey or Saudi Arabia. Should we meddle in Chinese domestic affairs? It's not our place to police every border dispute on the planet. I've always had a pretty keen interests in these conflicts overseas and people are incredibly ignorant and too quick to buy the government line about what is happening, Ukraine is a good example of this as most people have no idea the context of the situation or how it came about. People act like the US hasn't been throwing around it's weight and hasn't been aggressive towards Russia when that couldn't be further from the truth.

Putin did more to fight ISIS than Obama who actually did more to helped create them into the force they would become more than anybody else. We talk about these Russian "war crimes" as if the US isn't committing them almost daily? The US has supported Islamist terrorists for decades, the news doesn't even report about our drone war, trying to place the US on some moral pedestal is just ignorance. You call Putin an international criminal, I would say the same thing about every living former US president besides maybe Jimmy Carter but especially so for our last 2. I have no interest in another Cold War, I really don't want to be on the other side of Chinese-Russian alliance, we're not going to win. Do you want the US fighting wars for next 50 years?

So is ISIS, so our the "moderate" headchopping rebels, the Kurds seem like good people but they're going to be the ones getting screwed again out of an independent state. If you want the US to get more involved in Syria then we need to work with Russia one way or another, it would be straight up stupid and would prolong the conflict to try to enforce something unilaterally by turning it into a much larger proxy war. Russia is also becoming a key player in Libya too, we need these conflicts to end and for their to be stability regardless of some people's idealistic visions of these places becoming progressive liberal western democracies.

An excerpt from an official transcript of the meeting reveals that Trump told them, “I get great intel. I have people brief me on great intel every day,” he said.

A senior European intelligence official told the AP his country might stop sharing information with the United States if it confirms that Trump shared classified details with Russian officials. Such sharing “could be a risk for our sources,” the official said.

Bit of a context misunderstanding. I was referring to the main Trump collusion with Russia investigation.

That's the other thread, Angela's Trump worship thread. This one I'm sticking with. Also I have no intentions of giving up smoking.

So basically this is still just more paranoid hysteria over Russia.

Oh it looked like you made basically the same post in this thread. Angela takes breaks from it time to time. I thought you might benefit similarly.

That was just an analogy. If you posted something about smoking somewhere, I'm not aware of it.
