The sheriff gave other examples for options, some non lethal... But people need to realize, every state has different laws. In the state of Florida, where Brevard resides. We have "Castle Doctrine" and "Stand Your Ground" laws. It has been exercised through out the state. Even in instances, where a civilian saved a cops life by shooting the attacker.

Every state has it's own unique laws. Both in defense and weapon carry. Not just for guns, but knifes and non lethal. So do you own research and take a few classes before making any decisions.
