I know it's pointless. But it's a good way to kill time when I need to kill it, like when on a long car ride or whatever.

According to Vox, Colbert and the like are now considered preferred over actual news, which says a lot about CNN etc. This stuff is like crack to them.

Honestly, some of the responses crack me up. I understanding killing time. That's something we all are doing in the end.

The senators need to treat senator Harris with the respect they show other white men.

I think some people maybe are jealous that the left has all the best comedians. What the implications of that might be. Something to ponder.

But then again, of course all the hysterical loonies are going to be on the left, and we know anyone who appreciates comedy or makes comedy is a dangerously crazy person! Humour is the purview of the psychologically unbalanced. If you like satire you should probably see a psychiatrist because you are obviously mentally unwell. These things almost go without saying.

You like leftist comedians, because they are triggering your biases. Conservatives find them creepy.

I am non-aligned, so usually see moral equivalence. It doesn't make me want to hurt anyone or vandalize anything, on either side of the political divide.

Yes, satire and humour are creepy. Very creepy. This is reasonable. If you're not in the middle then you obviously have a bias, and if you are in the middle you by definition are immune to cognitive/political bias. All very reasonable and sound. Thank you for rescuing us hysterical non-middling biased fools with your reasonability and moderation. If only we could all be as amoral as your shining example. I promise I will aspire to be more amoral in the future, just for you!

I think it really depends on the style of comedy and it's content. Some comedy is sick, disturbing, bizarre, twisted etc. So it's not comedy itself that's an issue, but rather the content and key elements of a particular style of comedy that can be an issue. Now this particular preferred style of comedy seems based purely on relentless malice and hysteria and those into it can't seem get enough of it. And apparently it is has taken the place of actual news, which is also bizarre. It all has to do with what kind of mentality is being presented overall.

I have been moderately hearing-impaired, so find myself reading lips, at times. It is easier for me to comprehend it, with distorted audio turned-down.

When you mute 'intellectual debate', the people are making funny faces. People with legal titles, in formal venues, are getting away with melodrama, temper tantrums, and feelings.

We talk about the intellectual honesty of comedians, but not of intellectuals.
