More recently, Trump incoherently started talking about a transparent wall, so we could see on the other side. I wish I was making this up.

Yes I was watching a comedy program last night that was referring to his transparent wall

I think Trump got his idea from Netflix after watching the "Dome".

i am going to join the topic with total ignorance as to what trump said about the "transparent wall" because i could not be bothered looking it up (i am also doing other things).

anyway, when i was little and i watched a TV series called "Lost in Space", there was a defense the robinsons had against incursions called a "Force field"

it was never fully explained in the show how it worked except for one reference major west said about a "graviton accelerator", but anyway, they erected these posts around their camp and when they switched on the force field,
there was a shimmering luminescent sheet between each post.
when anything touched this sheet, it was instantly infused with certain type of electricity, and negative gravity resulted and violently threw the object backward away from it.

now that is obviously a fantastic notion, but on a more realistic level, there are a number of "force field" variants one could employ.

erecting posts that transmit microwave energy between them, and creates a "wall" that instantly cooks any meat that tries to pass the line. signs erected at each post say in mexican "stop now or you will be killed"

obviously that is stupid, but it does bear some capacity for amusement when entertained mentally.

so, a much better way to create a transparent wall would be from acrylics like they use in giant aquarium walls.
bullet proof and ram proof transparent acrylics.

this would allow clear surveillance of what is happening on the other side without the necessity for drones that would be shot down anyway.

it would cost a lot however, but would encourage innovation in the methodology for mass production of materials such as this.

but i am probably wrong.

Trump needs to build a force field wall like the one from Legend of the Seeker.



Or like the wall from Game of Thrones.



I mean it's not like those things don't exist.


However apparently transparent aluminum first introduced in Star Trek is now a real thing.

Or we could leash poisonous snakes to stakes posted at ten foot intervals across the whole length of the US-Mexico border.

Or...
We could make a virtue out of necessity...the necessity of having to deal with the Africanized killer bees already invading the states from Mexico, by placing Africanized hives of bees all along the border so that no one crossing the border could avoid being stung by at least 100 angry killer bees.

Or

combine drone tech with blimps. Just float smart balloons with computerized cameras, and robot ball turret machine guns (like they had on the undersides of WWII bombers), all along the border, that would automatically shoot first and never ask questions at every human target crossing the border. Of course they would have heat cameras for night shooting.
