Thanks Obama.

Seriously though, I'm sure it's been claimed that Obama placed those sactions just to put Trump in a bind.

And I also have a feeling if Russia reciprocates, it's going to get blown way out of proportion like they're committing some kind of war crime against the US.

Wait and see, considering the current level of hyperbole and hysteria over Russia that already exists ...

The only hyperbole and hysteria here is your own.

This is no joking matter! Well okay that first quote was a joke.

And yet, it's still the same hyperbole you're bitching about.

So you're saying if Russia takes action against the United States, there's no way the media will sensationalize it?

We aren't talking the media, we're talking you throwing out hyperbole and then complaining about others doing the same. Focus on the ball or leave the game.

You're the one missing that ball. The media and a certain segment of society have a track record for sensationalism and over reaction involving Russia. To say my commenting on an established trend of hyperbole is an expression of hyperbole on my part is erroneous. I know where you want to go with this, but you're off track. Or off base. Either pun works.

Nice giant red-herring. Again, I'm concerned about YOU using hyperbole and then complaining about it. Consistency is the currency of conversation.

Like I said, I know where you were trying to go with that. Certain people get very miffed when I write about both Trump and Russia derangement syndrome. You are one of them. This is just your failed attempt at trying to turn the tables on me. Now keep insisting I'm being hyperbolic regarding whatever I have to say about well established hyperbole. It's good, however transparent, tactic.

Red herring after red herring, if you have a cat I bet it's well fed. I never mentioned Trump here, nor Russia, I merely pointed out your hypocrisy in claiming others are using hyperbole, right after posting a hyperbolic statement. Sorry you can't accept facts, but all people need to do is look at your first two statements to find the humor. And that's all I'm saying on the subject.

I would say you're in danger of bursting his bubble Aristophanes, but it seems to be impenetrable. An act of futility, I might add though no doubt well intended.

The first statement was obviously meant to be humorous, which I'm sure you are well aware of. The second wasn't that far removed from the first, which I'm sure you're also aware of. I'm sure that you're aware of the difference between things like jokes, satire and sarcasm compared to people genuinely over reacting to a situation. So your half baked intentions were obvious to me, and I pointed them out.

Yep trying to manipulate me is futile, no matter how "well intended".

Liberals don't like what I have to say and want me to shut up, I am well aware of that. A few have tried various ad hominem tactics (like the one above) to try achieving that goal.

I'm sure if I had taken a pro-liberal stance the entire time, they likely would have been praising me and telling me what a wunderkind I am.

It's a waste of time and energy to engage with those that only want to hear what they already know to be true. I personally like to entertain all sides of an argument before making a rational decision and I am always open to changing my mind when new information and knowledge is realized.

Umm no I have no problems with you having your own personality/preferences, everyone is entitled to their opinions

Well the "horse has bolted" already so that's not going to make any difference

Yes indeed. And that being the case I should have at least said some or better yet not quantified in the first place.

I dunno. I'm wondering if the impression would be that I've finally seen the light and am thinking the way I'm supposed to. Like I had finally been brainwashed convinced.

Once upon a time I knew everything and had all the answers so I didn't bother listening to anyone. That was until I grew to understand just how little I knew and began to listen.

There are several who have opposing viewpoints to mine, or at least to the stance I have decided to take, who's words resonate with me. None of them come off as presumptuous, pretentious or condescending.
