Tons of smoke everywhere, anyone else effected?

The last time I saw ash fall from the sky was when I was a kid, when Mount St. Helens erupted.

The closest we ever got to something like that were the big wildfires of 2011.

The Lost Pines near Bastrop (a suburb of Austin) were nearly completely obliterated.

The closest the fires got to Houston were the Bryan-College station area (where A&M is)

We had record levels of PM2.5 from smoke. I bought a room air purifier, but the air got better the day it arrived and has stayed clear for a few days due to luck of the air currents. The smoke is still out there, waiting for the chance to drift back in.

Around Spokane here, the smoke's pretty much dissipated.

The fires are still burning in the forest and the wind has shifted direction so we have clear skies again and free of smoke. I can finally see the normal daylight color again and the sun instead of it feeling like it's all foggy out but with very strange orangish color and the sun looking like a blood moon.

It's almost enough to make me say finish up with summer already, and bring on the heavy rain.
