Isn't it better if they warn people of actual weather conditions than a fluffy version....

But then this is also the country that decided they should catch and kill all the cats, I suppose maybe not ones with an established owner but at least 'all' the feral and/or stray ones....No neuter/spay and release...no catch and kill the poor caged animal. I mean I don't think there is any way feral cats are killing all the natural birds in austrialia I imagine human habitat destruction is more to blame.

Cats trusted us humans, we're the ones who spread the domestic cat throughout the world by taking them on ships throught the world....so to turn around and massacure a population of cats seems really messed up, they took a gamble coming to live with people the way they do, and now people are letting them down.

I saw someone on some other forum say it originated as a meme in an autism community like ours and it was just a joke until some nt took it seriously and tried it.
It seems doubtful becauss thats just about the first tide pod joke I have seen made by someone with asd

Almost as useless as banning guns.

I thought that was for Minnesota...'hold my beer while I do a really scary dangerous turn around this super icy/muddy steep curve in the road at at least 4 times the speed you should attempt it at."

domestic and feral animals (dogs, cats, foxes, rabbits and rats) do a lot of damage to native fauna. As a pet owner I am ambivalent to the extermination of strays but it's the lesser of two evils given out native animals are autochthonous to Australia and nowhere else .

This is just the silliness of political correctness being applied to weather forecasts, trying to combat rainaphobia.

Haha! It would be hilarious if the weather forecasts started using OMG to announce dangerous weather.
Maybe people would better get the message too. Thinking about the footage of people going to the beach during hurricane Irma.
If a "scale 4 hurricane"-warning won't scare people off, maybe a "OMG-hurricane"-warning will.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've heard coming from the Australian government but, no offense towards Australian citizenry at all just members of parliament whom would put forth such silly legislation in the first place.

Exactly.

Its money grubbing not pc.

Reminds me of the boat tour I took of the water front of Fort Lauderdale. The husky old guy at the mic at the front of the boat who narrated the tour pointed out a "hurricane escape route" road sign on the shore, but then quickly added "but hurricanes are what they get in the Caribbean islands, and on the US Gulf coast. We don't get hurricanes here in Florida!". 8O He actually said that with a straight face! 8O I figured that that guy must be a member of the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce.
