This is exactly why I no longer feel safe in this country. I haven't believed in God since a year and a half ago, which is why praying doesn't help. Now I am scared s***less that it could happen where I live, or even worse, where I am at currently.

Several major news outlets are saying he was also a white supremacist who was part of a group that was trying to make Florida an all-white state. It begs the question, though: why would he go killing white people? Wouldn't he need them for his new ethnostate?

right.

i've seen people on this site and elsewhere display a sort of sympathy, or solidarity with shooters who were bullied and ostracized, saying that their troubled past makes them relateable and in a way those other kids are responsible for pushing him over the edge.
i've never come across bigger crocks of s**t in my lifetime.

not saying being bullied doesn't suck, but once you harm someone and it's
not self defense, you stop being a victim. once you kill 17 people, your name and the word "victim" shouldn't even be spoken in the same room. i imagine TONS of kids hate school and quietly fantasize about blowing it up, but actually following through on that desire reflects a deeper level of disturbance altogether.

Sadly yesterday, when one of the first pictures came out of the suspect, which was his year book photo, I felt a chill and knew what was coming. That yearbook photo and the smile on his face said it all to me, and reminded me of when I was younger and didn't know how to smile, and would try my best to imitate one for school pics.

So yeah it wasn't much of a surprise hearing today that he has an autism diagnosis, his obsession with firearms (special interest), his outcast status, issues socializing, and facial expressions were pointing that direction, and it always scares the heck out of me, that due to politicians focusing on mental health and not the weapon that was designed for killing PEOPLE that was easily and legally acquired, that people on the spectrum will be unjustly associated with violent acts.

Scary to say the least.

Because they share a common hate for people that aren't white & perhaps he was willing to do some of their dirty work for them? Why would any hate group reject someone willing to kill in their name & ideologies?

One of the students at the school says she was walking down the corridor with the suspect when they heard shots and she was talking to the suspect. How can he be the shooter :?:

Well if the suspect was 'expelled' I find it a bit unlikely he was just casually walking the hall of the school.

The name Marjory Stoneman Douglas is now known for the wrong reason.
