You Trumpsters ... always diverting attention away from your tin-plated demigod to something allegedly done years ago by someone who no longer matters.

How does this differ from Trump urging his followers to beat up on members of the media?

Trump has more influence and power.

My view is that ugliness begins when a country elects a leader knowing that he or she lacks the basic character qualities of good faith and good will. From there the ugliness grows exponentially, faster when the leader is a person of great ill will and longstanding bad faith.

There is an old maxim that "you get what you pay for", which contains a broad truth. In a similar vein, you get what you vote for.

It will get worse.

Trump replied “Be careful what you wish for Max!”. Which coming from the President is a credible threat. Reminicest of Pizzagate there are conspiracy theories about a pedo ring at the Red Hen.

A rally in Oregon sponsored by the right-wing group Patriot Prayer turned violent on Saturday as demonstrators clashed with anti-fascist protesters, who showed up in opposition to the event.

The Portland Police Department said that four people were taken to the hospital as a result of clashes at the gathering. One person suffered a serious, but non-life-threatening injury, while three others suffered non-serious injuries, the police said.

Four people were arrested in connection with criminal investigations that began before the Saturday protest, police added.

Amid the fighting, police declared that the so-called “Freedom and Courage” rally had turned into a riot and revoked the Patriot Prayer’s permit to hold the event at the Terry Schrunk Plaza, a federal park, in downtown Portland.

More than 100 demonstrators attended the event in support of Patriot Prayer, while more than 100 counterprotesters showed up, local news station KOIN 6 reported. Members of the Proud Boys, designated by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a hate group, attended the rally. (Patriot Prayer is not a designated as a hate group by the center.)

Counterprotesters threw eggs, half-empty water bottles and firecrackers at demonstrators shortly after the march by right-wingers began, The Oregonian reported.

In response, according to the paper, police fired pepper spray-filled paintballs into the crowd. Police also used firecrackers, smoke bombs and flash bangs to deter the violence, KOIN 6 reported.

Police denied using tear gas during the protest but said they did use “aerial distraction devices.”

Officers with the Department of Homeland Security were also at the demonstration.

In a series of tweets, freelance reporter Mike Bivins said that counterprotesters were throwing eggs, garbage and rocks at Patriot Prayer demonstrators, then things “ratcheted up.”

Jason Wilson, a writer for The Guardian who was covering the rally, said in a tweet that the confrontation between the groups “would have to be among the worst protest violence I have seen in Portland” and included “unfair fights.”

The “Freedom and Courage” event was organized by Patriot Prayer leader Joey Gibson, who’s hosted past rallies that have also turned violent and attracted white nationalists.

A group that identifies on Facebook as Eugene Antifa ― based in Eugene, Oregon ― organized the counterprotest, which they named “Defend PDX: Patriot Prayer’s Violence Must End.” The group also identified Gibson and the Proud Boys as their main opponents.

Clashes between Patriot Prayer and their opponents broke out during a rally on June 3, leading to at least four arrests. The groups also dueled at several rallies held in 2017.

Right-Wing Portland Rally Declared Riot Amid Clashes With Antifa Protesters

A man almost ran over a campaign volunteer with his car after threatening to kill supporters of President Trump and Rep. Lee Zeldin at the New York Republican congressman's campaign headquarters on Long Island on Friday, police said.

Martin Astrof, 75, confronted a campaign worker at Zeldin's campaign office in Nesconset on Friday morning at 11:15 a.m. ET, according to Suffolk County police. "After threatening to kill the campaign worker and other supporters, Astrof backed his car up in an aggressive manner nearly striking the worker," a police statement read.

Astrof left and was arrested outside his home in Nesconset shortly after.

In a tweet, Zeldin identified the campaign worker as Donato Panico.

Astrof has been charged with making a terroristic threat and reckless endangerment, police said, and he was jailed overnight awaiting an expected arraignment on Saturday. The New York Daily News reports that Astrof's lawyer declined to comment on the case.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was followed to his car Saturday by protesters who hurled both personal insults and political rhetoric at him while he left a Kentucky restaurant.

The encounter, which took place in a parking lot outside of a Louisville restaurant, was captured on camera by one of the protesters. In the video, you can hear the group of protesters chanting "vote you out!" and "abolish ICE!" to the Republican senator from Kentucky. One man can be heard calling the senator "turtle head" and repeatedly saying "we know where you live" as the senator and two dining companions climb into their parked vehicle.

The encounter was the second one to occur to McConnell in the last two weeks. In late June, the senator and his wife, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, were confronted by protesters in Washington, DC, while leaving an event at Georgetown University.
According to the Post, hundreds of people were protesting Saturday outside Louisville's Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office, just a few miles from the restaurant. Among the protesters were members of the local chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America. When someone noticed McConnell at the restaurant, they called on the protesters to confront the senator.
"If the Leader comments on being called a fascist and a supporter of ICE by a small handful of extremist protesters then I will let you know," McConnell's spokesman, David Popp, told the Post after the incident.

Popp repeated the remark in a statement to CNN.
Like the group of Washington protesters, the Louisville group took aim at McConnell for his support of the Trump administration's detention of families who illegally cross the border. McConnell does not, however, support the administration's now-reversed policy of separating immigrant children from their parents.

White House senior adviser Stephen Miller was so outraged when a bartender gave him both middle fingers that he dumped $80 worth of sushi in the trash, according to a report published Monday.

Miller, 32, was picking up a takeout order from a restaurant near his City Center apartment in Washington, DC, when the barman followed him out into the street and shouted, “Stephen!” before making the rude gesture and cursing him out.

The incident made Miller feel a little raw — so he immediately threw out his pricey meal, he later told co-workers, according to the Washington Post report.
