CW's Batwoman lesbian character played by gender fluid actor
I'm waiting for the Sci-Fi soap opera that features a gay, black, Jewish, paraplegic, trans-woman, who is a lawyer, a cop, a surgeon, and who also teaches part-time in a run-down urban high school full of sparkly vampires and angsty werewolves being followed by people in black SUVs wherever they go.

16-24 year olds may be driving the sexual identity social revolution but they generally have less money to spend on the sponsers products.
True, but advertising to youth isn't about making a direct sale as it is with older demographics, advertising to youth is about introducing their product to potential lifelong customers. It's also the most sought after age demographic these days for advertisers.
If advertising were all about targeting demographics with high disposable incomes most advertising would be geared towards married homosexual males: males still tend to make more than females and in this instance there are two male wage-earners (high income), add in that homosexual couples have fewer children to care for on average then heterosexuals in the same age demographic (lower costs) and boom you have a demographic with high amounts of disposable income compared to their peers, theoretically the white whale of advertising. And it's true, since the turn of the century companies and advertisers have shifted their image to be friendlier towards gays, and in many cases it's business groups that have propped up gay marriage because they're a vital consumer for their businesses. List of companies supporting gay marriage in the landmark Obergefell v. Hodges case.
All that said, advertisers still see youth as the white whale. You get a 40 year old gay man to buy a product or two that's great, that's a few sales. You get a teenager to believe in your product even though they can't afford it at the moment you've got a potential lifelong customer when they do start generating disposable income, and that's a lot of sales over a long period of time.

The Dr. Latham character on Chicago Med is an aspie black orthodox Jew.

Business today is all about the bottom line now, not 20 years for now. It is that way to a larger degree then it used to because these days profitability can be tracked by the second and we are more programmed for instant gratification.
When a lot of companies seemingly target the youth market who they are often really targeting older people who are insecure about being out of touch.

Many people in reality are more than one thing - for example, I'm a hispanic, immigrant, aspie, bisexual.
With that said, reality is being in many minority groups sucks. Don't get me wrong, I'm proud of who I am - it's just, the more minority groups that you belong to the more people there are who hate and want to discriminate against you or kill you just for how you were born. Which is really, really loads of fun (sarcasm).
And they're pushing this stuff to children in schools.
And thank God they are, the less homophobes ruining the world by proclaiming there’s a “gay agenda” the better - homophobes are sickening people that lead many children to kill themselves. I wish homophobes would do everyone a favor and disappear.
If showing same sex couples is an “agenda” I guess that means every Disney film ever made is political because it shows a straight couple. Oh lord, what are we to do?
What about me and many others... 8 years old, no idea what gay meant, never saw dudes kiss... yet I wanted to dance with Casper in ‘Casper’ because I thought Devon Sawa was cute. Only I didn’t know a word for it or what was going on. We’re born this way. Showing representation to children shows children that there are others like them.
An actual harmful thing that people aim to “push” on children is for them to not know or see that others like them go on to lead happy and normal lives.
Please don't get me wrong I just feel children should enjoy their childhood for as long as they can, when they reach puberty and start questioning things then it should be taught in schools as part of sex education.
I think I am more Asexual if anything, I have never been interested in relationships.

Same-sex attraction has the same exact basis as opposite-sex attraction.
You're saying something about same-sex attraction that you wouldn't say about opposite-sex attraction.
You are okay that Disney has films about a Prince meeting a Princess, but not a film done in the same exact manner about a Prince meeting a Prince.
Unless you're also against children seeing a man and woman being coupled in Disney films --
Then, yes, you are homophobic and I didn't get you "wrong" at all, you just don't like the label you are.
As a bisexual, I'm more than aware of the double standard -
When I love a girl, homophobes see it as rooted in love that children can see. When I love a boy, many homophobic people see it as something to hide away from children until they're older because they believe it has to do with "sex". So, yes, I'm well aware of the double standard that many homophobes have.
As a bisexual I know there's no difference, at all, in how I view the relationships, only in how society views me (ranging from homophobia to people who objectify us (ex: gbf)).

I'll add my two cents of commiseration...
Might be hard to believe, but I can relate - - in regard to my chosen profession in the arts as a writer. I lost a friendship because a former friend had decided that my choice to write fiction was just a dodge to get out of work. At that point in my life, I wasn't making any money with my writing and had to depend on my wife to survive (hell, still do despite making sales!), and so he decided I was below contempt for not working a regular, everyday job like him. At the time I was hurt by his decision. Today, now that I'm a published (but still struggling) writer, I don't think I'd urinate on him if he was on fire.
