We're not at his funeral.

They both kill and destroy. The only difference is that Bush was more polite about it.

I might be willing to wait until Bush, Sr. was in the ground if it was merely a matter of political and personal differences. But when a political figure is guilty of crimes against humanity, I say "screw it!" No more will I sit by silently while the press lionizes another public figure of such revolting caliber.


And the only difference between Bush and Trump is the latter has just stripped the respectable face from the presidency. In a way, I find that refreshing!

Well, I could also read fake Mark Twain quotes all day long. I'm pretty easily amused. Maybe I'll spend all day writing my own fake Mark Twain quotes. I'll start my own website devoted to Mark Twain quotes, and all of them will be of my own creation.

Actually....

you're right.

Twain never said that.

It was the famous attorney Clarence Darrow who said it (with slight variations in wording) on several different occasions in the Twenties and Thirties.

Actually it doesn't quite sound right as coming from Twain to me. Not quite his style nor attitude.

When Bea brought it up I realize that she was right that I have seen it attributed to SOME one other than Twain.

So I looked it up in both books on online. I was voting for HL Mencken because he had a more of an attitude than Twain. But no, it was Menken's contemporary Darrow. But that also fits because Darrow was all about defending clients from the death penalty, and thought and spoke a lot about how we all of thoughts of committing murder. Hense why he would have occasion to talk about taking pleasure from reading obits.

Mark Twain actually DID say...
