Most of them come for better work/financial opportunities. They typically do jobs Americans refuse to do. And the numbers have been crunched: They’re a net gain for the US economy - they pay more taxes than they cost, And they make many businesses viable. Without them harvesting crops (one of the main jobs migrant labourers do), fruits and veggies rot on the vine because Americans won’t do the work. It’s long hard days for relatively low pay. Even trump’s own vineyard had grapes rot on the vine last year because Mexicans were driven out by his immigration policies.
Illegal immigration is a problem no one has wanted to actually solve because everyone makes money from it. Farmers, construction contractors, janitorial companies, landscapers etc etc and of course, the USA.
Do yourself a favour and watch the mockumentary “A day without a Mexican,” for a look at what American life would be without them.

Have you ever thought the reasons Americans won't do some of those jobs is because they are priced out of the market by competitive, illegal labour?
Immigration has to be controlled. If policy makers find there is a need for labourers in a certain market, they can allow workers in as guest workers or other such programs.
But just because some industries might benefit from some immigrant labour, doesn't mean they all do, nor does it mean that illegal aliens should be allowed to stay in this country.
Yes, illegal aliens might make corporations richer and improve GDP, but so what? Humans do not exist for the sake of GDP. There are plenty of things that matter.
I've heard it claimed that global GDP would double if we just let everyone move wherever they might be needed. So what? What would be the cost of that? The death of the nations. The death of borders and individual culture and identity. It would lead to nothing but pure dystopia and chaos.
We need to go back to before this modernist, materialist thinking. We need to go back to before the "Enlightenment" and accept the divine origin of the state. We need to do away with these notions of "popular sovereignty" and go back to Divine Right of Kings - the most natural and divine form of government.
