They literally couldn't move to impeach before the midterm elections because the republicans were not going to allow any movement for impeachment to be passed. I think you're being disingenuous because you must have heard that before now if you follow the news at all. I think you're just arguing for the sake of arguing, because you constantly claim anything "liberal" is based in hysteria--that's the only explanation I can see for you making such an easily disprovable claim here.

I was just giving my opinion. You shouldn't get so worked up over a brief opinion and read so much into it that isn't there.

It's an easily disprovable "opinion", that's why I think you're being disingenuous. Why say something (opinion, claim, whatever you want to call it) you know is easily proven false unless you have some kind of agenda? Also I'm not sure where you got "worked up" from my comment. I used no caps or exclamation points or emojis. I just made a simple statement that what you said was false, he couldn't have been impeached before the election in November because before then there weren't enough democrats to pass a motion to impeach, and stating otherwise when the truth is so evident just makes it look like you're the one arguing from emotion or from some agenda.

Why do you always claim anyone who expresses any kind of "liberal" view is excessively emotional or hysterical? This all gives the impression of an agenda, like I said. That's not a legitimate way to debate ideas, to just say anything you don't like is coming from someone who's hysterical.

EDIT: spelling.

I post a sentence about an issue and you post paragraphs about me.

Tell you what, to hopefully deter future derail's I'll start a thread in random discussion titled "karathraceandherspecialdestiny's Ezra fixation, and then you can post on and on about me there.

This is rather rude and uncivil, but it doesn't go without noting that you never answered any of my questions. It's telling. I think it best that we not speak to each other if you can't be civil and refuse to answer simple questions about something you post (the whole point of this forum is discussion, eh?)

I understand your tactics now.

Please stop fixating over me and projecting yourself onto me.

I think it best that we not speak to each other

You've already said that several times in various threads, and yet you keep replying to my posts over and over and over again. There is no "we". Please get over me already. Please find someone else. Please.

This.

Impeachment proceedings were filed previously, and again a couple weeks ago with the same motion.

Also, it is OBVIOUS trump has broken the emoluments clause of the constitution and is personally profiting from the presidency. That alone should be a GTFO of office offence.. but his party won't give up the power they have under trump, so won't vote to impeach him.

This is ridiculous sensationalisation. Mueller has now come out and said it's "not accurate." In other words, there is no smoking gun here.

This investigation has been going on for nearly two years and hasn't found any collusion between Trump and Russia. All they've managed to do is convict people for financial crimes and some campaign finance laws. For the latter, there is no evidence that Trump committed a crime. All they have is the claim of a now-convicted felon.

What about when Rudy Guiliani said, on camera, that trump reimbursed Cohen for the $130K payout? That's evidence that trump committed campaign finance violations - a crime.

When Trump is in jail they'll still be denying he's criminal. You just can't reason with some people who just see the world how they want to see it despite all evidence to the contrary (ie. objective reality). I see Forever-Trumpers like Flat-Earthers, I think it's a similar sort of logical failing.

The Buzzfeed story was a gift to Trump and his supporters.

The conspiracy theory part of me wonders if the story was planted on behest of Trump.

By every metric Trump should not be reelected. Even Hillary would probably beat him in a rematch. Unlike 2016 when very few thought that a Trump presidency was even a remote possibilty he is president and the Progessives are “woke”. Yet I still have that persistant thought that somehow, someway the Dems will blow it again. A month like this with the buzzfeed misstep, the women's march exposed as being led by Farrakhan supporters, and the American Psychological Association coming out with guidelines asserting that traditional masculinity is disordered makes me seroiusly wonder if my fears are more then paranoia infused pessimism.

Pretty much every president has done something that could be impeachable. How many presidents have started illegal wars? Spied on the American people? FDR threw people into concentration camps. Truman launched an illegal invasion of Korea. Nixon did to same with Cambodia. Obama did the same with Syria.

Let's face it. Dems don't care about some stupid campaign finance violation. They just want Trump out over politics. It's just like in the 90s. Republicans didn't really care that Clinton committed perjury.

And Johnson's impeachment was over his violation of the Tenure of Office Act, an act later Supreme Courts have states was unconstitutional. It was obvious that the Tenure of Office Act was political ploy.

It is much the same here. It's is just politics.

Cormier and Leopold authored a bombshell, discredited report on Thursday, citing two law enforcement officials who said Cohen acknowledged to Special Counsel Mueller’s office that Trump told him to lie to Congress about a potential real-estate deal in Moscow, and claim that the negotiations ended months before they did so as to conceal Trump’s involvement.

The article, which prompted Democrats to call for Trump's impeachment if it turned out to be true, said that Cohen’s testimony “marks a significant new frontier: It is the first known example of Trump explicitly telling a subordinate to lie directly about his own dealings with Russia.”

But Mueller issued his first public statement in more than a year to repudiate the BuzzFeed report the next day, flatly asserting that BuzzFeed's story was "not accurate." The Washington Post has since reported that Mueller intended his rare denial to mean that the story was "almost entirely incorrect," and that the special counsel's office immediately "reviewed evidence to determine if there were any documents or witness interviews like those described, reaching out to those they thought might have a stake in the case. They found none."

Leopold has been involved in numerous scandals during his career related to his false reports, including one in 2002 for Salon.com about Enron that the outlet said was "riddled with inaccuracies and misrepresentations," and another incorrect story in 2006 for Truthout.org about supposedly pending indictments against former George W. Bush aide Karl Rove.

You don't actually need a crime to impeach.

So are you saying that you think a president should be impeach just because someone doesn't like him or doesn't like his position? Under that definition there would be no president because they would all be impeached!

I think if he fails to uphold his oath to faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and to the best of his Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, yes, he must be impeached.

I hope people remember from Andrew Johnson's and Bill Clinton's (both democrats) impeachments, that being impeached doesn't in itself equal being removed from office.

From my perspective he has upheld his oath to faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and to the best of his Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

He violated the emoluments clause of the Constitution, taking in effect bribes from Saudi Arabia through the Trump hotel in DC, failed to divest from his financial interests, criminally violated campaign finance laws, revealed classified information to the Russians (technically legal, but still reprehensible), used our military at the border for political purposes, antagonizes allies and cozies up to autocrats, lies to the American people on a daily basis, tried to ban entry to the US based on religion, attacks the press as "enemy of the people" (one of the main reasons for the first amendment), fired the director of the FBI after he failed to pledge loyalty and drop an investigation, many high level government posts are left empty, leaving us vulnerable to crisis, and ruined our reputation in the world.

is that enough? I have more
