I think a person can worry about something like that ruining them without being guilty of anything. See the illustration I posted above for further reference.

I think we can now safetly assume (with hindsight) trump is now safe but with regard to his initial reaction before the release of the full Mueller report one smells the fear of a man hiding something

According to the Washington Post there's actually plenty of possible areas which could have bought down his presidency but Mueller obviously wasn't thorough enough to find the evidence

One particular instance, we already know that through the 2016 primaries, Trump was trying to arrange a deal to build a Trump Tower in Moscow, a deal that could have garnered him hundreds of millions of dollars, which he concealed from the public. Trump knew more details about this in a investigative report might reveal some of his dirty tactics.

Mueller obviously wasn't thorough enough to find the evidence, even though he conducted an exhaustive investigation for two years says the Washington Post.

It seems likely that's the sort of thing he foresaw and was fearful of. A relentless attempt to depose him that would go on for years.

I agree

If it wasn’t for Obama ,Hillary would be in prison.
Politicians never face time. Are you made about that or just that it’s republicans that aren’t and happy democrats don’t?
Though in this case trump didn’t do anything wrong.

So you agree that it's possible his fear was based more on a lynch mob, than something he was guilty of.

...I can point to plenty of politicians who got caught, and not only faced, but DID time - Two consecutive (one Rep, one Dem) governors of Illinois, for two, IIRC  :P ! !! !!

So since a ridiculously long and expensive investigation flopped, like so many said it would, they're going to keep taking it a step further. I laugh at such obvious folly every time I think of it. Then I shake my head.

No collusion, no obstruction. Not much to show for the effort.

I wonder how much taxpayer money that colossal nothing burger cost.

Probably far less that the gazillion investigations Republican did on the Clinton.

It worked against Hillary Clinton, even though they didn't found much in the end.

The Clinton investigations didn't last almost 2 years. It only felt that way because the election cycle never ends.

I still say this is one of those "illegal for the commoner, not for the aristocrat" b.s. that keeps the vast majority of politicians out of trouble. It's part of those special rules. It happened with Clinton. Were anyone expecting less with Trump? Only if the Republicans really felt like he was such a liability that having a President Pence was better would they have gone ahead with that.
