The 'experts' said there would be an immediate recession if we voted to leave and tens of thousands of jobs lost. So you know propaganda from the establishment and their media mouthpieces.

The BoE and Osborne said something like that but based it on A50 being triggered the day after the vote which is what the Govt said they would do. After the vote the Govt pushed that date back by a long way and then the BoE undertook an absolute sh*tload of quantitative easing to avoid a recession.

I think there are actually clear areas to criticise the Remain campaign and its leaders (and all that came before to get us here) but IMO the 'you said there would be a recession!' claims dont do the criticism justice and miss the point by some distance.

Good point. But you are falling for the idea that the BoE wouldn't know it was an option to do that. It was sheer scaremongering to try and stop people voting to leave the EU.

You don't know anything about the EU.

I know enough to know Britain is facing an economic disaster after believing they could leave the EU but retain their rights and privileges of a member nation.

Yep... you definitely know enough, Kraichie!

oh absolutely agree that the BoE should have factored in all options within their power when calculating brexit fall out (unless they did but still got that wrong). Why their forecasts were out we wil never know, lazy accusations can be thrown around to fit into narratives though.

I do feel that had A50 been triggered the day after the vote then it would have truly been economic chaos.

Thatcher, whatever one thinks of her politics, is still remembered as "the Iron Lady". Any suggestion for a name under which May may be remembered?

Rights and privileges make us strong as a country, securing the borders even more so. We have a drama at the moment where the guy from Dumb and Dumber is trying to re-enact events from the run up of al-Qaeda to present day 9/11. The FBI and Special forces Intell were so far behind in the knowledge of what was about to unfold by losing track of key players in the atrocities leading up to it, the actions they displayed is what has changed in the context of tracking people off of the radar today. If we have our own border policy, we won't have to share top secret information with international spies who want to run before they can clear the smokescreen in their cover up departments. We don't have nor need the big guns to follow on the trail of conspirators of the crown.

It's called propaganda. They are politically motivated. Despite all of it we still voted to leave the EU. People who had nothing didn't have much to lose.

Someone who doesn't have anything is an odd way to describe the likes of Rees-Mogg, Farage and Johnson.

I'm talking about the millions of people with nothing.

All the bankers and global corporations wanted us to stay.
