The bear has wondered into the peach grove...

For everyone who thinks that a peach is nothing more than a delicious soft fruit to be plucked and devoured, lets not forget that each peach contains a hard centered pit that is full of deadly cyanide. :ninja:

A bought peaches at the grocery store yesterday. There’s no one that I’d particularly like to poison at the moment, though. Well, there is, but it would cost too much money in gas to get there, so not this week!

It'll likely play out like all of the other 'boycotts'. There will be a big rush at first, as corporations loudly get on the bandwagon and trumpet their 'virtue', followed by a long period of silence, finishing up with those very same companies quietly trickling back in and taking up where they left off.

So the California grizzly bear will try to leave the Georgia peach grove, but being addicted to all those tastey peaches he will reluctantly find his way back into the grove to eat some more fruit until he gets sick from a tummy ache. :chin:

That seems to be the way it works.

While a peach pit seed does contain cyanide in a bound form, it is not enough of an amount to kill a human alone. One would have to consume nearly a dozen or so before that would be fatal to most humans. The cyano group interferes with a enzyme used to produce ATP in cellular respiration, leading to death if too much is consumed.

I used to save peach pits as a kid so that I could do chemical extractions with the seeds. However, I gave up on that project when I learned about stronger toxins that are easier overall to work with.

Sorry for the science lesson above, so I now return you back to the original topic at hand.

Well one still have the risk of choking on a peach pit or chipping a tooth if one is not careful.

And even if the bear devours all our peaches, more will grow next year! We survived General Sherman's March AND The Great Depression! Like a strong peach tree that keeps blooming and producing more peaches every harvest. :rambo:

Anyways I'm not anti-abortion, I'm just pro-Georgia. :)

I think it's very f*****g ironic how Hollywood claims that they are doing this for the rights of women and yet their decision to do this is going to hurt many WOMEN living in Georgia who work in showbusiness! Women I might add who hate this new abortion law too!

"Yeah lets put thousands of women in Georgia out of a job to show that we are standing up for their rights!"

Dat logic...

Unfortunately that is how protests work. People boycott stores, products not even caring if it will hurt the people working there that have nothing to do with it. Then eventually they give in and do what they want because they are losing too much money. But for this to work, many people have to do it or else it takes no affect and it affects no one.

I guess it's a lot like war? But at least there's no direct killing involved...

Kind of like the current tariff war going on between the Chinese Panda and the American Eagle. :chin:

Hollywood is quite fickle, and the outrage will fade. I would be more worried about educated women not moving to Georgia. Not that women who went to college get abortions more than their uneducated peers, simply that the culture surrounding abortion/women's rights is no longer nearly as attractive as more progressive states. Wait a few years.

What really pisses me off is that things were really beginning to pick up for Georgia, and then this s**t happens which may potentially revert Georgia back into a backwoods cesspool of impoverished people and a place that nobody will want to visit anymore. Not even Atlanta.

It just sucks! I know it's our government's fault, but it still sucks! And the greedy bastards in Hollywood are not going to help things with their boycott! If anything it might make things WORST for the women in Georgia!

I wish my mom understood that as much as I do. :|

You know what? I changed my mind. Let the hungry California grizzly bear devour the Georgia peach!

I’d like to enjoy a fresh peach daiquiri in Savannah some day.
Been to Atlanta a few times, have family that lives in Fayetteville. One day I’ll make it to see Savannah and the Bird Girl statue.I heard they moved it out of Bonaventure.
Hollywood will get over it,people don’t want movies produced in fake sets anymore.
