Making it mandatory in school would help

That sucks if that's true.

They had a lot of dross like hysterical programming like Alex Jones. Never actually encountered White racism on U Tube, but there were a number of reverse racist Black channels. So they probably needed to do a little house cleaning at U tube. But it sounds like they went too far.

But it makes me wonder if this deleting was done by computer, and not by humans. Like that list of "similar topics" that pops up under the threads here on WP- obtuse matches only a computer would make. There is a lot of stuff on U Tube. Would take a lot human man hours to assess it all. U tube maybe using internal dumb machines to do their house cleaning for them... with ham fisted results.

A history professor shows a clip from "Triumph of the Will" glorifying the Fuhrer,as part of his lecture about the use of propaganda in Nazi Germany, and the computer hears a few key words in the clip, and then assumes that the whole program IS Nazi propaganda, and just gives the professor the axe.

IDk I kind of think trying to just prevent kids from seeing the wrongs of the world and learning about is probably not a good approach.

Well did he do anything to defend his content.

Like has he contacted youtube to explain his historical material was banned due to hate speech, because it contained nazi speeches and what not in a historical context and perhaps the decision was wrong and should be reviewed by an actual person. It could be they created some sort of automated system to delete content that it registered as hate speech and perhaps contacting the youtube company could resolve it.

Or was this a person who immediately made a big rant video and never even bothered to contact youtube to see if a mistake was made that could be resolved? I have not seen the content...but I could see youtube being wrong and perhaps resolving it, if he would potentially contact them about it.

Well a lot of people in america, think that the U.S went in and single handedly won the war for the allies, and europe and britain should be eternally grateful to the point of obsequiousness. Even though it was the allied forces from various countries who won the war, if anything the U.S was late to the war and some american companies were even willingly trading with and dealing with nazis before the U.S finally joined the war. Also there was the french resistance if I am not mistaking part of what helped the D-Day battle was the french resistance having blown up some of the nazi supply trains, but I never hear anything about that mentioned in any D-Day memorial ceremony.

I think Zuckerberg is doing the right thing, ensuring that videos of a graphic nature are regulated/moderated. I am sure plenty of right wing nutjobs got their education from watching unregulated videos of Hitler's rallies. I think Hitler's official photographer Leni Reifenstahl did more damage with her brilliant filmography of Hitler's rallies (lets face it, what a wasted talent) than Hitler's pathetic speeches.

Too much automation these days. Between speech monitors and resume scanners, everything is either black and white.

Only thing google understands is lawsuits and publicity. I doubt guy can afford a lawsuit against google being a teacher, so publicity(rant videos) would be his best choice.

I watch some big gun channels and know why they still there while smaller ones aren’t?
They have lawyers who sue google ever time a false claim is mad and googles lawyers are like “whoa google wed lose” so they remove the claim.

Has nothing to do with protecting children. The same people pushing this fascistic censorship push teaching 4 year olds about transsexuals and homosexual relationships.

It's disturbing.
