I think neo-liberal corporatisation of government policy happened back in the Reagan era. From that point any US government (democrat or republican) was subject to lobby groups. Not surprisingly think tanks that are sympathetic to neo-liberal economic theory emerged throughout the western world. These groups advocate/advise politicians, referendums and political enquiries.

My point is conservatives in general (or on average) are more likely to espouse corporate agendas so at an empirical level are less representative of the average voter than a left leaning political party.

Since both parties are horrible enough, it makes no difference to me if one might be slightly better than the other. I doubt I'll be voting at all, next November. It's a waste of f*****g time.

I think that's actually one of the things that hurt Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election was that people who came in droves to support Obama in 2012 abstained in 2016.

I don't think either one of them has that great of a chance. If I were a Trump fan, right now nobody running for president would be making me feel nervous.

Obama has a very bad one. He presided over a record increase in oil production, plus he was very pro-fracking. Basically, he did nothing to address climate change.

He wouldn't be in office if the DNC hadn't rigged the primaries and foisted one of the worst candidates on us in American history.

Well, that's like deciding which agonizing way to die is better. If I had to choose between dying from the Ebola virus or colon cancer...well, it's not an easy decision. I'll probably pick Ebola. While I'm sure having my innards turn to liquid s**t is horrible, it's over quicker than colon cancer.

Perhaps Trump is Ebola, and the Dems are colon cancer. Maybe it would be better if Trump got another four years and just finished the country off once and for all. This slow death is agonizing!
