Aren't there usually big consequences if it gets found out that underhanded dealings have been done? Isn't it being said that Trump is in for big consequences if he is found to be involved in underhanded dealings? Should that be viewed as trying to intimidate and threaten him? Or does it only go one way?

This would be like saying it would be OK for a mob boss to threaten a witness because if the witness got the truth out, then the mob boss would go to jail. But that's pretty much what Trump is, or wants to be, anyway. After all, I know Trump has used the term "rat" in the past to refer to people who talk to law enforcement:

https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-c ... d=59862349

The way Trump talks, as well as the innuendos he uses, it's just like how a mob boss talks. And if a mob boss is stupid enough to publicly intimidate a witness, then the mob boss goes down.

That's obviously what I did not say. I said if a witness is found to be lying then there are big consequences. And it seems to me that several of the witnesses who have testified against Trump had already experienced big consequences for committing perjury.

The Inspector General said the complaint was "credible" and "urgent". He did not say that the whistleblower or other witnesses perjured themselves. You're making that up.

And none of the witnesses have testified yet, beyond the whistleblower complaint.

No I am not making up that previous witnesses against Trump have been convicted of perjury. What is it with you and Bill completely misreading my posts?

...At least the implication of what you wrote seemed to be that they had perjured about Trump! I believe they did not. :x
Trump was threatening the whistle-blower, as he was, IIRC, calling the whistle-blower's source " treasonous " and alluding to executing them!
When the Presiddent says something like this, IT IS A THREAT. Because he is the President! 8O

...I...I tried to add so.eso.ething that won't go up. I lost a draft.

:(

"Chohen"? Do you mean Michael Cohen? He was not convicted of perjury because he made a false accusation against Trump; he was convicted of perjury for trying to cover Trump's and his own you-know-what. If this is who you were recollecting when you replied to me, then you need to get better sources.

Not quite sure who Dean is.

Trump seems to be channeling Star Wars's Emperor Palpatine here. The only difference is that what the Jedi did against Palpatine was of dubious legality (you know, that whole breaking out lightsabers on the Supreme Chancellor thing). In Star Wars Episode III, Palpatine (who was trying to become a totalitarian dictator) equated opposition to him as "treason". And now Trump is doing the same thing:

The whistle blower is entitled to remain anonymous by federal law. The fact that Trump and the GOP want to out him/her is very likely a violation of law.

Dean was in the Nixon administration, and had been the first to turn on Nixon. Today, while still a conservative, he is very critical of other conservatives.

This is not a whistle blower.

This is a person who is providing hearsay.

And Jake Tapper fact-checks Jim Jordan, who said the same thing. They have never required whistleblowers to only be first-hand sources:

Then what if it's like REO Speedwagon song ...

Do you trust this person?

Pot. Kettle. Black!

Herr Drumpf has already committed treason, when he spilled his guts on state secrets to Kim Jung Un. If anyone should be tried and executed, it should be Herr Drumpf!

Look up the people who have been used to provide testimony against Trump and their perjury convictions. Then you will be up to speed on what I am saying.

The very fact that Trump says Schiff should be charged with treason, and had suggested that the whistle blower should be executed shows that he knows he's guilty and that his days in the White House may be numbered.

It sounded more to me like he was saying how serious it is regarding spies. That it was considered so serious in the past they were executed, to convey the seriousness of it.

Let's say a commanding officer finds an MP asleep at his post, and tells the MP, "there was a time when you would have been shot for sleeping on duty". That does not mean the commanding offer is threatening to shoot the MP, it just means he is conveying the seriousness of what the MP was doing.

Spies? For who? The united States? Because that's who the whistle blower is representing.

Beats me. I don't know why Trump called him a spy. I'm just saying it didn't sound like he was threatening to have whoever executed. It's a good example of how sensationalistic a lot of the press is.

As for who the whistleblower is for, it could be said that he's part of a long running ongoing attempted coup.

In fact Trump and Nosferatu Reichsfuehrer (spelling), Steve Miller, have stated they are attempting to uncover the whistle blowers identity. As both should know a whistle blower's anonymity is protected under federal law, it sounds more than a bit sinister to me.
