A lot of poor people hate people with money and talk about how evil they are, while at the same time regularly playing the lottery in hopes of striking it rich.

Which Democrat is pro-life (not a baby killer?)

How is carpet bombing not a risk factor that kills babies?

That's a very sad picture to me knowing just what they're supporting.

Anyone was an infant once & Americans are all about reserving the right to kill anyone.

We don't need a macho country, we need a functional country FFS. Do you seriously believe a slumlord with a gold fetish cares about unborn kids? Not every father is that empathetic in reality.

How the f**k is locking kids in cages pro-life?

to paraphase from ansel adams, "some folks know the cost of everything but the value of nothing." that applies to amuuurican "conservatives" whose only conservation applies to hogging all the public resources they have appropriated for themselves. to paraphrase from hunter thompson, "we are a nation of 200 million used car salesmen who feel no qualms about killing anybody who makes us feel threatened."

Poor people give themselves away when they complain about the cost of things.

So what if they do?

some people think the poor should just have the decency to just piss off.

I've seen poor people make a scene when they can't afford a luxury product

*High quality* medical care if a luxury.

Like, yachts, sports cars.

Americans are too wealthy to put up with the nonsense Canadians deal with.

WRONG on both counts- you are opposed to ANY affordable health care for the poor, period, just like the GOP as a whole. and only WEALTHY americans are "rich enough to not put up with the nonsense canadians put up with."

And that’s the major difference between attitudes of people in the USA and Canada when it comes to healthcare.

It seems that conditions in the USA have fostered an attitude of “So long as I have mine, F everybody else!” whereas the typical Canadian mentality is more like “I’m glad to have mine, but also happy that those less fortunate also have theirs.”

IMO there are very few Canadians who would prefer to pay a bit lower taxes if it means kicking 1/4+ of the population off of healthcare. We’re much more of a collective people that way - especially since it might be a high earning high taxpaying person who ends up needing very expensive care. Could be anyone, so we’re all glad to share the wealth & cost of ensuring we all receive at least a certain basic standard of care. Just makes sense to us. Especially since it actually costs us less money than the American way, anyways.

The major deficit of the Canadian system is that the consumer sacrificed their power.

Money makes you master.

Giving away your money makes you servant.

And generalizing an entire group of people is strictly forbidden on W.P.

Fake news!

Canadians are happy to give up a little money if it means providing healthcare to those who earn less. It’s a bit like the US military policy of “No man left behind.” The strongest ones sacrifice a little to support the weak & injured. That’s just how civilized society works.

And here conservatives betray their belief in the social hierarchy, where your place is determined by how much money you have.
