Because like it or not, the occupant of the Oval Office affects the entire world.

That’s why most people have an opinion of whoever the current American president is, or who the next one ought to be, while they have no idea what the names even are of most other world leaders - Canada’s included.

And people like Bernie because Bernie likes people, not corporations and oligarchs. He would have made a fine President and shaped a better future for the USA. Meanwhile, if more of the same continues, we’ll all be sitting here watching American politics & society continue to devolve into a Russian style Oligarchy where few thrive and many suffer. Sadly, the world wanted more for American citizens than they did.

Then you should feel sad for yourselves, not for us.

Why shouldn’t we feel sad for you for being deprived, again, of Bernie for potus?

But we “deprived” ourselves.

My cards predicted that the next president would be the King of Pentacles (a very rich man). Once Bloomberg dropped out of the race I knew then that Trump would win again.

Well I also pulled the King of Diamonds when I did a reading using playing cards, which also indicates a rich man. Doesn't Trump have more money than Joe? Bloomberg had more than both combined but he dropped out so I felt that leaves Trump as the second richest man in the race.

Also I didn't want to bring this up but I also pulled the 5 of spades meaning illness and ace of spades meaning death, plus the 7 of spades meaning conflict and violence. Consider this: both Trump and Biden are very old and we are in the middle of a pandemic in which the elderly are at a higher risk of dying from this new virus.

The man who should have won in 2016 has had the nomination stolen from him by corporate interests once again.

Now everyone has no choice but to rally support behind Biden in a “lesser of two evils,” sort of vote. A better choice than the orange guy, but it’s still sad af that the best guy is out of the race. :(

America has dodged a political bullet.
Sanders was an extreme socialist.
America has enough pain to deal with, atm.

If he wore a bag over his head,
It would make me nostalgic over a former girlfriend of mine.
I have ambivalent feelings over this. :?

Nah, ditch the paper isolation headdress.

I'll tell you what is sad.
In a country of over 330 odd (very odd) million people,
America can only scrape together a Trump, Sanders and Biden as presidential contenders until recently. <snicker>

Lol meanwhile Sanders would be considered Right of centre in Europe!

If Canada and Australia really cared, those countries would become the world leaders.

Ooooh I’ve taken notice of trump’s refusal to take personal measures to mitigate C-19 exposure.. I mean, it’s not like I’m wishing anyone gets C-19 and dies, buuuut.. I wouldn’t shed a tear if it did happen to a certain orange ogre.

I also read that he’s now taking it seriously and you can’t get anywhere near him without taking a C-19 rapid test first to ensure you’re negative. IF that’s true at least he’s doing *something* vs the otherwise Nothing that it appears he’s doing while refusing to be a leader and actually Lead by setting an example of wearing a mask and social distancing etc.

If we cared about what?

And we do lead in some things. Canada punches above its weight class in a number of metrics, and has historically done so, too. It’s not as if we just sit idly by as a nation and do nothing. Ditto for Australia and other countries.

He basically went from claiming it was a liberal hoax to realizing "Oh s**t! I might actually DIE from this!" 8O
