You never joke with me, so I am assuming you are making another dig.

I said it was innocuous, in the scheme of things.

innocuous
adjective: innocuous

not harmful or offensive.
"it was an innocuous question"

I don't have a problem with making weed legal. [sigh]

Only if cannabis consumption is abused. I feel, that if the herb is treated with care and respect, like any product of precious mother earth and the many beauties she has , the bud can be a miracle for for many.

Cannabis is relatively OK and safe, as long as there no psychiatric vulnerabilities , which I do have due to non-drug induced onset phycosis in early teenage years , but I like CBD buds and the occasional THC hash for anxiety , creativity and other things .

It's only matter of time till they legalise Cannabis in UK.

Excessive use of alcohol does the same thing.Weed helps my mental health, I’m prescribed it for PTSD.

If someone is particularly susceptible to hypnotic trance states, they are more likely to experience psychotic episodes.
But this is fairly rare. About 10% of the population have that degree of somnambulism.

Another suggested that "A higher incidence [of sleepwalking events] has been reported in patients with schizophrenia, hysteria and anxiety neuroses". Also, patients with migraine headaches or Tourette syndrome are 4–6 times more likely to sleepwalk.

All medication can have side effects.

Marijuana isn't strictly speaking medication, it just happens to be helpful for a lot of people.

So...

Anything done to excess or detriment can be harmful, whether smoking pot or exercising.

Anything can become addictive if it fulfills a strong need, even things like sex or gambling, or taking risks in general.

Anything can generate a negative reaction if the person's individual physiology or psychology is at odds with the substance in question, such as being allergic to peanuts, or eating a ton of sugar if you're diabetic, or dinking a ton of coffee if you have ADHD.

Kids are young, and tend to be more irresponsible / less risk-aware to begin with. Pointing at weed but ignoring booze girls boys sex money fame popularity or anything else that also makes young people do stupid things is cherry-picking.

Many "medications" are just street drugs with fancy names. Oxycodone is synthetic heroin. Adderall is an amphetamine.

Apparently people still buy into the "reefer madness" schtick. Thanks, Nixon...

Weed is not for everyone. That's true for almost everything. But for some people, it does a world of good, and allows them to actually have a life worth living. The "damage and harm it does" is massively overhyped. Yes, some people should not smoke it. But that has to do with how the individual reacts to it, not because "that's how it makes EVERYone react".

As an aside, John Boehner stands to make a lot of money if cannabis were to be decriminalized. He's a major shareholder in a cannabis investment firm. In case you don't know the name, John Andrew Boehner is an American politician who served as the 53rd speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 2011 to 2015. A member of the Republican Party, he was the U.S. Representative for Ohio's 8th congressional district from 1991 to 2015. And formerly a staunch opponent of legalizing cannabis. But currently he's making a ton of money off of it, so now he's ok with it, and has been one of the lead lobbyists involved in getting the House to make this vote.

Many medications had their beginnings in plants, Digitalis from Foxglove, Quinine from the bark of the Cinchona tree ,Colchicum from Autumn crocus, vincristine from periwinkles, aspirin from willow, opium from poppy, and more.
