True, I created a thread about that.

Overuse does not apply in this situation the materials had swastikas on them.

Yeah for sure it can get thrown around more than is appropriate, but IDK what else you call white supremacist crap with swastikas on it.

I agree with ASPOM.

In this case, “Nazis” actually means Nazis. Tempus Fugit was likely referring to when some people use the term “Nazi” to refer to everyday, mainstream conservatives.

Exactly. That's the point of the 'cry wolf' fable. When the real wolf does show up it's shrugged off as just more hype.

That's exactly what this thread isn't about.

Mate, you must have enrolled in the Brictoria school of obfuscation! your point has nothing to do with this thread

Interestingly you didn't respond to my earlier post where I asked to to look at the leaflets these "fine young men" are posting around to decent folk.

But in this case it's closer to the boiled frog analogy than crying wolf. They've been more subtle in the past, but in the last 5-10 years have grown emboldened.

When it was more subtle people were told it was inappropriate to point out and that we* were over-reacting so they got more bold and now everyone pretends to be shocked and chagrined.

*we being people who were outspoken about racism and the growth of white nationalism

Lol can't we all at least agree that its messed up for someone to go around passing around nazi pamphlets? Like I just don't get people trying to argue other things.

Like sure some media has probably used the term nazi too liberally, but that has little to do with actual white supremacist activity. Just seems weird to bring up over-use of the word nazi in a post about actual nazi activity, for sure I don't see how its that relevant in this post. I mean not like I just saw a trump sticker and decided everyone around me is nazis, I don't think I am that unreasonable.

In the small island that i live, several neo-nazi's were prosecuted and actually imprisoned when caught with similar neo-nazi promoting propaganda.

The island that i live on was one of the only bits of British owned soil to have enemy forces occupy it during the war.
There is remnants of the nazi regimes all across the island in the form of German bunkers / fortifications.

I don't know if these bunkers are why the island that i live has a neo-nazi following, or perhaps the rest of the world has similar problems.

I don't think that neo-nazi'ism is wide spread, although, i do know that those who subscribe to neo-nazi ideals are often politically motivated, so can often be involved in spreading propaganda.

I have vague memories of being invited to a political meeting when i was in my early teens, which was held in a pub basement called the esplanade, which, unknowingly to me was a neo-nazi meeting, where the members of the local neo-nazi's met and listened to political speeches from one of their members / leaders.

I did not like what i heard and never went back. This however reminds me how these people operate.
Later on in life i was in a reggae band which included one member from the Gambia.

This put me on the radar for the neo-nazis, and over the years, on and off, i have been stalked by neo's.
As well as being cyberstalked by neo's (along with all sorts of other people).

In my experience, most the neo-nazi's do not grow out of their political views, although some may learn to hide their views to the public, and learn more subtle tactics to persuade people to take their point of view.

It is not uncommon for neo's to take on the guise of the latest local trend, in a way hijacking the latest trend
to cash in on the popularity of the trend, and try to convert the followers from within.

This tactic that have used over and over again, and that is why so many of the classic fashions get ruined by neos.

For example, the moonstomp skin heads of the 60s/70s were originally a multi-cultural multi-race fashion,
for people who loved Jamaican music and fashion.

How ironic that over the 80s, and to this day, being a skin head is now associated with neo-nazism.
I have met people in most music scenes, from rave to ska to drum and bass, that has neo's embedded in the background. shame these people can't get their prejudices out of them, and just learn to live and leave people alone.

They must be unhappy people.

Without going to far from the thread....the 71 million people who voted for Trump in 2020 read the news and knew whom they were voting for and (most importantly what he represents)

Not sure if you have heard of the comedian Crawley comic Romesh Ranganathan. Romesh joked that one time UKIP warned him not to perform at some venue or face a protest the likes that hasn't been seen in Britain for years. He rather brilliantly used UKIPs threats to promote his tour (which was sluggish) and ironically it worked, he got free publicity for his comedy shows and he thanked the racist idiots for their help

This thread turned into: "they keep insisting Nazis aren't real and that we're just making stuff up, but here's proof!"

Alright so someone with a computer and an office printer, cranked out a bunch of nazi propaganda leaflets and distributed them. I agree, that's very messed up.

So let's talk about who was behind this incident.

I already posted that it was the Spokane chapter of a neo-Nazi group who have been previously linked to terrorism

I said talk about who did it, not figure out who did it. Or is just knowing who is responsible all there is to say about them and the incident?

They and their sympathizers have been in America for a very long time.
There were successful Nazi fundraisers in America before the war who took a ton of money back to Germany.
There have been sympathizers and groups here ever since, usually secretive, occasionally bold, as George Lincoln Rockwell’s group, and like those with their pamphlets.
They are real, they are serious, and they are NOT harmless.

Yeah, but posting who actually did it, and showing them to actually be nazis, totally messes with Tempus being able to imply that it wasn't actually nazis, but merely someone playing a terrible prank.
