The movement to have Trump removed ASAP
How would that be a good idea? That would just send the message that sedition and insurrection are acceptable.
You missed the point. She's saying that's what could happen if Trump is removed.
Mike Pence could, but he has no obligation to and it would be against all good judgment. Just because he can doesn't mean he would. Is there any reason to believe it would be likely?
Besides, can't Trump pardon all of the violent insurrectionists while he's in office? Removing him from office eliminates that possibility even if it introduces the possibility that Pence might pardon him.
President's don't pay for their crimes. Democrats and Republicans are all complicit in the corruption of our system.
If Pence doesn't get the opportunity to pardon him, Biden likely will.
I'd hope Biden wouldn't be that foolish. While he certainly could there would be no benefit whatsoever, there wouldn't even be a defensible excuse like when Ford pardoned Nixon. He would just be spitting in the face of everyone who voted for him.
The benefit should be obvious: If Trump gets put on trial, the whole system gets on trial, basically. Nobody's hands are clean.
The excuse Biden will give be the same as Ford gave. We need to move on.
The whole system doesn't need to go on trial to remove Trump for his glaring mental issues.
The whole system doesn't need to go on trial to hold him criminally responsible for his obvious criminal behaviour.
I don't believe your perspective is correct.
When you consider the fact that no U.S. president has ever paid for their crimes.
Noam Chomsky made a bold statement years ago that every post WW2 president, would be guilty of war crimes if held to the standard of the Nuremburg tribunals. Sadly, he's right.

Noam Chomsky is correct, but Trump might be enough of an outlier. How many other presidents have encouraged insurrection?

Just a reminder: under international law, an occupying power has no right of self-defense, and those who are occupied have the right and duty to liberate themselves by any means possible.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is now calling on Vice President Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove Trump from office.
... if not, then Congress will begin impeachment proceedings (again).

None that come to mind. Still, it's better for the oligarchs that he just go away.

Him getting off scot-free would just delegitimize the whole system. They don't want to deal with the consequences of that outcome, so I'm still unconvinced.

I don't know what's more treasonous than bringing explosives into the Capitol Building.
Trump incited the mob to do this. The crowd did these treasonous things.
Trump should be charged with treason; and all who bought weapons into the Capitol.
This is the sort of think that happens within coups.....
Nixon did some dirty deeds---but he didn't advocate a violent overthrow of the government.
If Nixon incited a mob to seek to overturn Kennedy's 1960 victory, and the crowd stormed the Capitol-----then Nixon would have been charged with treason, for sure.

Even if he wasn't charged with treason Ford wouldn't have been able to defend the pardon. Power and prestige might get Trump reduced charges but if he gets off scot-free people will be pissed.

Anyone predicting if Trump is going to put a gun to his head when he loses power? Or will he go off to Brazil?
Anyone else think if Trump kills himself, there won't be any grief and instead there will be "good riddance"? I am predicting celebrations if he kills himself. Remember how happy everyone was when he got Corona? That is how upset and disgusted everyone is at him and how many people he had pissed off. Why would I think people will be sad when he dies? Same as when he starts to get dementia? People will just be "Thank god, now he can't be in power anymore and won't have that ability anymore."

There needs to be a left wing riot to fight against these Trump Lover goose stomping mobs to help protect Capital Hill and the inside capital. I am going to be predicting this. Let's see how right I will be.

We need for Trump to get booted out of office----at the very least.
I wonder how war is any different?
