From Anxiety to Meltdown Book
Book written by fellow ASD sufferer, and qualified paramedic.
Foreword by Tony Attwood, leading specialist expert psychologist in Autism Spectrum Disorder,
author of "The Complete Guide to Asperger Syndrome".
Please note that ASD Sensory Overload Meltdowns can not be cured with medication such as antidepressants and anti psychotics. This is because Meltdowns are caused by abnormal neurology and exposure to triggers.
As stated many times previously in this simple equations, the reason why people suffer from meltdowns are as follows:
Stress > Capacity for Stress = Meltdown
In short, people with ASD and sensory impairment problems simply do not have the capacity for many of the modern sensory environments that we encounter, and thus when we encounter such environments that include our triggers, what results is a sensory overload meltdown.
Meltdowns can also be caused by an inability to regulate the stress caused by an emotional response.
Again caused by abnormal deficient brain presentation and NOT CHEMICAL IMBALANCE that CAN be treated with Anti-psychotics.
