Seems Biden and Harris actually may want to address those things insted of just sweeeping it under the rug like republicans want them to do.

Gross generalisation.

Let us focus on healing rather than hating, in this thread.

Well it kind of was the republican party trying to sweep the racism problems under the rug, I think it was specific enough. But fine I guess 'some' members of the republican party.

Also, I wasn't focusing on hate I was focusing on my hopes for this administration.

I did have a chat with Joe about the hostility on this website.
Refer to my first post.
There is a lot of "ner, ner, ner ner, ner", happening, also.
He thought that was rather childish and has asked people to "grow up".

I havent witnessed you receive any "hostility". Not in the last fifteen hours since Biden was sworn in, and not ...ever.

You will have to provide examples of what this thing is that you want stopped before we can endeavor to "stop" it.

The only backlash I have received so far from Mr. Biden's victory is a few sulking co-workers calling in "sick" on Thursday.  I guess it can be called the "Orange Man Flu" ... ?

There has been no more talk about wanting to see former elected Democrats and their families dangling from the ends of ropes; no more graphic descriptions of sexual atrocities being committed with their corpses; no more threats to deport the entire minority population of this country "back to where they came from"; and no more shouts of "Trump You" issued with an upraised middle finger.

Ahh ... peace and quiet at last!

:D

I hope Biden is given a decent opportunity to prove himself. That's often harder for Democrat Presidents as they're generally more preoccupied with long term social change (addressing discrimination, poverty etc.) than "quick wins" for the electorate like tax cuts, so positive outcomes take longer to become apparent. And Covid-19 is bound to slow things down further.

Hopefully a more moderate, progressive leader will undermine the credibility of extremists looking to cash-in on the BLM movement, as the majority will feel less need to be radical in knee-jerk reaction to Trump. The apparent death of QAnon, 4chan etc. should see some sense returning to Republican politics, too, though there could be a doubling-down among some fanatics convinced all this is simply MORE evidence of an Illuminati / Lizard / Paedo elite cover-up. There might be a sting in the tail yet, we'll see.

The one thing protestors on the left and the right seem to agree on is a sense of powerlessness and political alienation among ordinary people and too much privaledge at the top. I am most interested as to whether any serious attempt will be made to address the charges of elitism and lack of democratic representation / accountability. "Business as usual" might not cut it, this time.

A return to U.S. debate centered around facts rather than hysterical nonsense is certainly overdue, and I hope for a calmer atmosphere there over the next few years. Unfortunately Rupert Murdoch is now talking about starting a Fox-style news channel in the U.K., so he might simply be transferring all the fabricated bile and melodrama over here rather than stopping it completely. I guess the rabble-rousing ultimately failed in the States, so it's time for him to try another likely-looking target. Oh joy.

Nice try; but the image title includes the words "Very_Fake_News.youtube.jpg", which betrays its lack of truth.

That does raise some suspicion for sure. Also, I would not say I like cops, but no one should be murdered even if they are a cop. I mean there needs to be some big changes in our law enforcement for sure so cops seem more as public servants than horrifying street executioners.

The angle of the shadows do not match, either.  The light on the woman's face comes from the front of the woman's body, while the light on the building behind her comes from a different source at least 90° more to her right.

It looks like a poorly Photoshopped fake image.

I am making, and have been making for some time, the point that there are a$$holes on either side of the political divide.

I have no idea how people can argue against this.
Pointing this out isn't defending conservatives.
It is defending the Truth.

People are so odd. :?
