Despite the Phenomenon Known as Trump, the US is still a great nation; it never had to be made "great again."

But are Americans fleeing the country more now?

Fox news is not real news lol. He is not a real news man. Don't listen to Fox News. Only listen to it for entertainment. Tucker Carlson has been kicked off other news stations before. If you want to know if many Americans are actually leaving the country, do your homework. Find other sources that cover the story if Americans are leaving the country, if you don't see any other source, don't believe this.

Oh yes I know that Fox news has agendas, but what news doesn't nowadays? Seems like they all have biases so I have to question things of all sources sometimes. But if a lot of Americans are fleeing florida only, then what countries are those people going to since he said 'fleeing the country'?

If anyone had been fleeing the country, the person who ultimately must shoulder the blame is Trump, who had set the wildfire ablaze.

Yes, his argumentative battle with the 'Media Fake News brigade' and the haranguing with the political left who attacked him 24/7 since second one, should take most of the blame.

Please remember why you guys voted Trump in, in the first place.
I.E. The corruption of the political aristocracy on *both* sides.

With 20/20 hindsight, it is my view that, ultimately, Trump was a very bad choice and was predominantly responsible for the American divisiveness that we see now.

Yes, it was *all* Trump's fault.

I linked to the Insider. I have no idea what the article reads in The Washington Post.

Try opening it in an incognito window, that usually works for me.

The YouTube video is from Tucker Carlson from Fox News--a right-wing propagandist from an increasingly propagandist 'news' network. They like to use people 'fleeing' California and other blue states to try and dismiss left of center policies. People are leaving California because of natural disasters and woeful mismanagement--thing which are not a result of following left politics to the letter. Or they are Republican californians who decry the political dominance of the Democrats in that state. California Republicans would likely be much more viable if they didn't have to toe the line of the over-centralized, right-wing platform mandated by the Republican national leadership and right-wing news outlets.

The WaPo article cited the main reasons for Americans leaving to be racial injustice, nationalist terrorism, and a lack of a social safety net--all problems that are downplayed by Republicans. I'd be tempted to move to Canada too if it meant my children wouldn't have to worry about being murdered for being gay or being trapped in hopeless poverty because social security is 'un-American'. Elements on the right are calling for another freaking civil war for gods sake.

Well Ben Shapiro left California because of too much leftism he said. He just didn't like their policies and the homeless problem so he left and he blamed it on the left and the democrats. People were celebrating in their comments of his departure. Now I am hearing people saying on Facebook "this is not an airport" when someone announces their departure of a group.

I heard somewhere that California is a financial basket case.
Is this correct?

Based on what I have heard, the American health system is one of the top bugbears caused by Republican policies.
If they could address that, they would garner more votes.

Canada doesn't exactly embrace Americans wanting to migrate there. It's very difficult to become anything other than a resident alien there. I wouldn't be able to become a Canadian citizen unless I married a Canadian.

Americans aren't exactly swarming to move to Mexico....

That would be very bigamy of you.

Interesting fact:

Is bigamy a crime in Australia?
Australian law recognises both marriages and de facto relationships. While bigamy is a criminal offence (under section 94 of the Marriage Act 1961), it is not an offence to have multiple simultaneous de facto relationships.Dec 14, 2016

Yup. The entire media/journalism industry has become an embarrassment all over the world, but is particularly bad in America, imo.

I wouldn't recommend Australia, with the tension between us and the kommunest regime.

If Trump had been attacked 24/7, it was because he had ridden into office by appealing to racism, by ridiculing both political opponents and even a disabled reporter, and by the most insane exaggerations and out-and-out lies from being the best educated and intelligent man on earth, to the size of his inaugural. Most of those attacks on Trump were very justified.
As for voting Trump in to be rid of the political aristocracy - Mitch McConnell and other long time, establishment conservatives remained in place. So much for that.
And for the record, Trump never once got my vote.

if trumpoleeney had managed to flip the vote, you can bet your sweet bippy that there would have been an exodus from this country by wealthy americans of multiple political stripes. there would have been a crippling brain drain as smart people generally don't want to hang with dumb people.

Great, leaving us with all the insane idiot racists and conspiracy mongers. Much the same had happened in Germany after the Nazis took over. That's how we got Einstein, Thomas Mann, and many other German expatriates involved in the arts and the sciences.

You don't have a good handle on 'irony' and 'hyperbole', my friend. ;)

Where did I suggest every Republican that you don't like was removed from a position of power?
Your comment came as a surprise to me.

I never ever voted for Trump either, and I would never do so.
Hopefully, we have seen the last of him. 8)

I wouldn't blame them with the way America has been since the end of May, last year.
