Slavic culture is still very un-western and strong authoritarian leaders like Putin are admired more than more moderate leaders who are seen as weak.

Their population is 90% Han Chinese, I have not seen one Han raise a noise about their government's treatment of Uiyghers. Their culture is very ethnocentric

The Iranians prior to abdication of the Shah of Iran were very progressive, Since 1980 they have gone through a mass brainwashing (not unlike German people in the 1930s) and their values are much different now. Many of those Iranians who are openly anti-government are drawn from minority groups who are traditionally been scapegoated such as bahais,
