It has been "educational" to watch the complaints on social media (and elsewhere) about "let's go Brandon" from the same people who were perfectly happy with the "F*** Trump" catch phrase of the previous 4 years.

A lot of conservatives like to lean into these claims that people who disagree with them lack a sense of humour, but it's mostly when they're just being obnoxious imbeciles. It's a shame, because there used to be funny conservatives but now they've got nothing but trolling and vitriol laugh and it's always the same joke, let's laugh at everyone who doesn't think this shtick funny.

It's not that liberals or the left or people who disagree lack of sense of humour, it's that conservatives have forgotten how comedy works and only seem to get laughs echo chamber dwellers. It's not a problem that's limited to conservative comedians, it's just that they're much more likely to forget that the point of comedy is to be entertaining, not to just troll people you don't agree with.

That was stupid, but I'm talking about the let's go Brandon freak out, which is both genuinely funny given how it started, and revealing in the liberal reaction to it, especially coming from people who applauded open and much more vulgar attacks on the previous president. Did you catch the SouthWest Airline incident? All the explainer articles? All the hypocritical tweets? This isn't the first time I've seen you trot out the "nothing to see here" line when it comes to this particular joke, but there's actually quite a lot, and it's hilarious.

You know, that's kind of big talk from someone who posts an awful lot of unfunny, wall of text memes, almost like perhaps you're not the best judge of humor as a whole.

Again, I think this is more a product of your own bias and bubble than objective reality, but I would also argue that the left has been far more hypocritical about it lately, clutching their pearls when it's their sacred cows being mocked as if they would never dream of doing such a thing themselves, or declaring that jokes making fun of them are simply not funny (sound familiar?).

I don't think you know what the word "Independent" means. :scratch:

I am happy to piss in the right as well as the left, but that doesn't mean it is in equal measure.
But when you are in a primarily leftist echo chamber, what is the point in joining in on that crowded choir?

The problem with many progressives I have interacted with is that they heavily embrace a binary point of view.

I'm familiar with the word independent, that doesn't mean you don't have obvious biases or that those biases don't influence the stances you take.

But of course, observing this is entirely a failure on the part of the observer. Other people are always the common factor.
