If the do, it should be “Abandon hope, all ye who enter here!”

A lot of scientists think we are the aliens. Earth was terraformed and we are a product of interstellar "seeding" OR gene splicing OR both

Hopefully this will finally trigger the long anticipated mothership.

If we are the product of "seeding" then I hope we are an "ornamental garden" and not "fruit trees"

Not likely. Not as an individual species. We have too much genetic kinship to every organism on earth to have been "planted" from abroad. We obviously evolved from other creatures on earth.

Though if you're suggesting that the entire biosphere of earth is the result of alien astronauts leaving a candy wrapper on the earth's surface four billion years ago then...that could be. The alien bacteria on the candy wrapper might have colonized earth, spread, diversified, and evolved, spawned eukaryotic cells three billion years later, then multicellular organisms three and half billion years later and so on.

That'll be news to the Hawaiians.

Gosh. You never take a break from SJWism!

They were in fact designed by Carl Sagan's staff to look racially ambiguous, and to me they did indeed end up looking a bit Polynesian. Which is a not bad look for them because Samoans/Hawiians etc do sorta combine African, White, and East Asian physical traits.

It's called Panspermia and its a legitimate scientific theory

Trust me, they aren't racially ambiguous

According to Ebony Magazine
Perhaps the most racist example of white supremacy imaginable, the “Pioneer Plaque” is a pictorial message for extraterrestrials with several geometric symbols that would help an advanced civilization deduce the origins of the spacecraft. On the plaque is the image of naked white man and a white female, an unsettling reminder to the writers of Ebony of the true source of the genius behind all of the missions to space.

I agree with NP. You lay on the SJW virtue signaling so thick it comes off like mockery of it.

If there is intelligent life elsewhere in the universe, then it obviously already knows about human life on Earth since none of it has tired to contact us.

Considering that the original NASA plaques were made of 6061 T6 gold-anodized aluminum -- giving them a yellowish-bronze hue -- it seems disingenuous to me for someone to say that the two humans depicted thereon are white.

"While Carl Sagan regretted that the figures in the finished engraving failed to look more panracial, other people had different interpretations of the race of people depicted by the figures.  White people, black people and East-Asian people each tend to think that the figures resembled their own racial group."

The reason why aliens who've seen the plaque haven't visited us, is because they didn't want to go to a planet inhabited by white racists.

Ya know, that does make sense ...

("THAT planet is nuts, wouldn't touch it with a twelve parsec pole.")

I thought it was the lack of a "Night Life" in Roswell, New Mexico.

Actually the biggest complaint in Sagan's time was that they were depicted naked. Many people thought it was a strange choice given most humans wear clothes.

According to wikapedia -Carl Sagan said that Linda Sagan intended to portray both the man and woman as having brown hair, but the hair being only outlined rather than being both outlined and shaded made the hair appear blonde instead.

so, although some people were proud that their race appeared to have been selected to represent all of humankind, others viewed the figures as "terribly racist" for "the apparently blatant exclusion" of other races

Quite clearly Sagan intended the man to look like him
