I've never been on a plane and I don't plan to get on one ever no matter how comfortable they make it. Unless I'm sedated first, maybe.
My mother, however, has flown plenty of times and never had any problems. She never seems to get motion sick, either, even when she was once on a cruise. But thanks to my emetophobia I'm afraid to go anywhere other than by car, even though I'm not especially prone to motion sickness, either, but I know I'm not virtually immune like my mother. I actually fear that more than crashing or even terrorism.
And then there's the fact that planes and boats are basically giant petri dishes that are full of germs and that they carry around to infect other countries. A couple weeks ago some cruise ships showed up at the harbor where I live, and there were not only too many people, but I couldn't stop thinking about norovirus. Why oh why can't there be a vaccine for it?
