^^ In retrospect, it's a complex question.

if you read the quotes from the three top US academics in the field of astronomy and astrophysics they preface their statements with fundamental axioms from the scientific method.

Again this is no longer a conspiracy theory if the US Pentagon, CIA, NASA and now even congress are taking it seriously.
The US government and private money are currently financing Avi Loeb's Gallileo project

Since when does the US government fund conspiracy theories in the name of science?

I didn't say that claims shouldn't be researched and investigated. :| Jumping to conclusions and being willing to accept inadequate evidence as fact is inadvisable. You are free to do so, but other people are free to find such a stance irrational, especially when threads are made about such things. I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve.

Exactly. Being open minded is one thing. But beeing SO open minded that your brains fall out is another thing.

I am not sure what you are accusing me of? I am merely posting news articles that have announcements from the media/government.

Yep!

I never get anywhere when I cite that Sagan quote, but it's certainly applicable, as always.

nothing wrong with being cautious. Some of us are just more adventurous than others.

I'm extremely adventurous. I go on 10 mile hikes alone in the woods all the time, and I don't even wear sunscreen. 8)

Well that does sound like physical fun...what about being intellectually curious?

If you actually read any of my posts, you would know that I'm both intellectually curious and intelligent. I believe in balancing open-mindedness with healthy doses of skepticism. It's worked out well for me so far. I'm rational and not susceptible to snake oil salesmen or similar nonsense, but I like to discover and learn new things as well.

If I'm presented with adequate evidence that aliens are behind UFOs, I'll believe it. Until that happens, I won't. There's nothing wrong with that whatsoever. It doesn't make me incurious or unadventurous.

I never said it's bad to be cautious. But in terms of intellectual curiosity, if there's a door presenting itself to be opened I'm not going to wait for somebody else to open it for me.

It makes you an intelligent and reasonable person who does not believe something just because someone says it is true.
