I am fearful of hovercars! Due to potential increase of accidents. Drivers will have to look vertically as well as horizontally, etc. :o :o :o

And would it be a gas-guzzler? This kind of vehicle isnt a shining example of a green car in these days of carbon footprint and global warming. Its not green at all!

I would be more keen on biofuel and hybrid fuel cars, weaning off dependence on fossil fuels.

How do you know so much about hovercars?

"The Price is Right" has been canceled where you are!

Of course people being in control of flying cars would not work out, for obvious reasons. If flying cars did start being the norm, it would have to be a completely automated system. The moment the car leaves the ground all the way unitl it lands a computer would need to be in control. Strict air pathways would have to be adhered to. A system like this is a completely new infrastructure that would take decades to develope.

Though this sytem would be way more efficient than our current road based transportation infrastructure. We will have to take to the sky's soon. The more the population increases with vehicles, the more roads we will need. The amount of roads needed to be built and maintained would be crazy, a huge drain on civilization.

Meh, theyve been selling the idea of hovercars for years and we still havent got them. Same as living on the moon, consumer spaceflight, robot servants in the house.. frankly the future sucks, looking from the POV of a 70s child. I imagine it sucks even more from earlier POVs.

Yeah and they still havent got that right either. Computers were going to be superadvanced machines that ran your house and killed astronauts, and instead.. they just BSOD a lot and generally dont make anything work faster than they always did.

And that was supposed to be 6 years ago!

But many things have advanced. How long have Internet forums like this one been around? Ten years?
