It's pretty bad taste for people to mock George Floyd's death, but that doesn't stop most right-wingers from doing it.
George Floyds death was used politically
Whether your right or left the poor guy died for using a fake $20 bill and shouldn't be mocked
And Charlie Kirk's death isn't being used politically? For over a month the entire right wing would not shut up about it and was using it as a justification for all sorts of authoritarian policies.

I mean I do think Charlie Kirks beliefs were pretty gross and can't help seeing the irony of him becoming a victim of gun violence when he himself seemed to imply wrongful gun-deaths were a fair price to pay for de-regulated guns. And no I am not sad he died and I don't have to be.
That said that costume does seem kind of inappropriate for a school event. If it was some private party of adults that would be one thing but doesn't seem appropriate for a school event.

Actually the sheer lack of class the "left" - the self appointed good/nice guys right, opposing the nasty right wing - indulge in every time a right winger gets it is one of the reasons I could never feel a part of said movement. It breaks my brain you can be castigated for a bad taste joke over someone's passing by those who celebrate a death of somone they didn't know The guy had a wife and kiddies FFS. Look at yourselves. Maybe he deserved the sack for being a colossal hypocritical and bad role model for kiddies. I don't feel joy when anyone dies, whether it's Thatcher, Blair, Obama or trump. I just don't. Maybe Putin, but I think we can all agree that one goes beyond.

I agree bad taste, but why sack them? Kirk's death didn't need to be celebrated but his legacy as a right wing troll and agent/harbinger of far right wing influence I can understand the disgust. People are celebrating the death of his legacy (not his person). I am reminded of Di Angelo's "white fragility" how sensitive the far right are to "words". Seems hypocritical as aren't they always fighting for the right to say what they want without being labelled racist, sexist, homophobic or ableist (yes the far right are the mortal enemy of us autistics). Double standard.

So I take it you're equally opposed to the right for their mocking of George Floyd? Also, both parties claim to be the good/nice guys. You don't think right-wingers constantly claim to be good Christians who believe in Jesus and family values? This idea that the left is the self-appointed nice guy party, so they should be held to a higher moral standard than the right, is a complete strawman.

I wasn't advocating for sacking so much as pointing out fit role models for young minds - or at least people with the nouse to know when to draw the line - is greater in my mind than anyones adherence to whichever half baked political footballteamism they dribble on about.
As for "death of legacy not person" thats complete and utter horsesiht and anyone with two brain cells to spark off each other should know it. His legacy as a martyr is more powerful than anything he could have done alive and his death a rallying point and justification for whatever it is you believe he was influencing. If you believe the half of what you claim then his murder should strike horror into you.
As for fragile sensitive far right types - Don't make me laugh, leave the name calling and the hacks in the schoolyard - this is the woke thing coming full circle, these things always do. Free speech etc didn't matter when it was mostly people saying things you wouldn't getting grief huh?
https://encyclopedia.ushmm.org/content/ ... socialists
And BTW as you keep referencing it can you point me to some sources that anything kirk did or said was "far right"? Always far-right this, far-right that with you isn't it.... I don't think any of you have any concept of what far-right means... if you think it applies to people having a sob over halloween costumes then you better pray you never find out! Oh, and read a book called "the boy who cried wolf".

No, because I'm not opposed to anyone being mocked, within reason.
My observation was concerning those who express joy at anothers death, particularly when it's as asinine as rival footballteampolitic.
and so you're saying the left isn't any better than the far-right? I mean, I know that myself, I just thought your whole shtick was that you were?

I'm a lefty, I'm saying there's no justification for the right wing to mock the man George Floyd

I suppose I can't speak for the sacked teacher's reasons. But let's not pretend Kirk's murder was not seen as karma. He stoked hatred of trans people. Although what was exactly going through the shooter's head is also a mystery. He has all the hallmarks of a far right groyper. A follower of Nick Fuentes. So Jimmy Kimmel was correct, the shooter was "one of theirs".
In any case Kirk has become a "convenient" martyr, and yes I don't need to rub 2 x brain neurons together to understand that the very fact his legacy has been enshrined by the MAGA faithful and other international far right groups tells me everything I need to know. Kirk was a modern day Goebbels, in terms of his value for spreading far right propaganda.

Again with the strawmen. I'm not saying that at all. I literally just said that the right claims to be nice/good guys too and that you're holding the left to a higher moral standard than the right. I don't know how you got "The left is just as bad as the right." from that. It's a complete non sequitur. Saying that different people should be held to the same moral standard is not the same thing as saying that they all act equally moral or immoral. For example, I think Hitler should be held to the same moral standard as the Dalai Lama, not because they're both morally equal, but because I believe the same moral standards should be applied to everyone.
Also not addressing the fact that right-wingers mocked George Floyd's death and also said that Kyle Rittenhouse's victims deserved to die because one of them was a pedo. They also treated Kyle Rittenhouse like a decorated war hero just because he killed a couple people. Why are you okay with the right doing it but not the left?

Plenty! and by the way he has inspired a host of young turning point and other young far right imitators who still go to public places and campuses and troll people.
Here's a small sample of things he said in speeches:
If I see a Black pilot, I’m going to be like, boy, I hope he’s qualified. Because we can assume black people are rarely qualified.
Reject feminism. Submit to your husband, Taylor. You’re not in charge. Men deserve to always control their female partners and females should always be submissive.
We need to have a Nuremberg-style trial for every gender-affirming clinic doctor. We need it immediately. Doctors who serve patients who are transgender or who may experience gender dysphoria are equivalent to perpetuators of WWII and the Holocaust and deserve similar legal treatment.
America has freedom of religion, of course, but we should be frank: large dedicated Islamic areas are a threat to America. Any concentration of Muslims in a specific area can automatically be deemed a threat to the entire United States.
If you’re a WNBA, pot-smoking, Black lesbian, do you get treated better than a United States marine? U.S marines deserve to be treated better than U.S citizens with those attributes.
While criticizing YouTuber Ms. Rachel for quoting “love your neighbor” to defend celebrating pride month, Charlie Kirk quoted a Bible verse used to justify stoning gay people “to death.”
Charlie Kirk once said black people were better off in slavery and subjugation. “They were actually better in the 1940s. It was bad it was ev!l but what happened? They committed less crimes,” Said Kirk
And his favourite quote= Black Americans are about 13 to 14 percent of the population. Yes. But half of all prisoners are black.
Is it such a coincidence the Nazi propaganda minister Josef Goebbels also used same type of propaganda strategy targeting jews using fake claims in order to dehumanise an entire group to the German people.
I don't approve of his killing but his legacy is utter shite, I am only surprised he was allowed to continue his circus for so long without somebody trying to wack the smirk of his arrogant face. But like I said before, (to quote Kimmel) "one of his own "unalived" him"). His death has also sown divisions in the right, perhaps if anything it put a mirror on the MAGA movement and many in Kirk's camp didn't like the reflection in the mirror.

Thanks, although I did ask for sources as with the greatest respect, you can type whatever you like.
I could address each point individually but they don't merit the effort, most of it screams "whats the context", and searching brings us a quite blatant repetitive theme of manipulating exactly that: https://www.imdb.com/news/ni65473696.
To me "fascist" is a vulgar accusation and not something to be used lightly, and/or just because you disagree with someone. To me it feels like such terms are used in place of reason, ie he makes a criticism of something like DEI, and in lack of a suitable counterargument, people just retort with a "nuclear option" repeated over and over in the hope it sticks.
You do realise the brush you paint him with is the exact same toolkit as that which you purport he and all the "immigrant hating" far-right etc are using on blacks gays etc.

I'm struggling to follow what it is you're trying to say. Perhaps it's me but it seems you're all over the place.
The only consistent is you asking me to comment on/defend/justify/whatever things the far right say. I'm not the right, far or moderate and I don't speak for them; most of my concern is around the use of the term, the pearl clutching behaviour over what many people seem desperate to see or frame as far-right, and the black-and-white, oppose-the-right obsession. If only people could step back and see themselves. Y'all would NOT LIKE the metaphors.

Hi Modus operandi was very similar to the way Josef Goebbels spread Nazi propaganda. Replace Nazi with MAGA and I can't really see much of a difference. Kirk (like Goebbels) focused his propaganda attacks on the weak and vulnerable in society. But unlike Goebbels he would mask his intentions dressing it up as "Christian" to give himself a modicum of credibility to the MAGA Christian right when he suggested it was morally right to stone gays hiding behind the bible.
I know some in the autistic community hold Kirk up as a hero for once making a comment that "your hinderances are a superpower". But context is key. Kirk believed disabled people should not be allowed to collect government assistance, in the case of the autistic kid he was speaking to he was actually saying get of your lazy backside and work, you have autism it gives you skills, don't live off the government. And that fits with his core message. there is nothing wrong with autism, why do they need medication? So he closes the loop and ties back to RFK who said vaccines causes autism, all in the cause of "lets not spend government money on medicine.
This is a great example of his tactics on campus, he would keep "I agree with this" very narrow to pull people in and the problems vague and only attacking specific, 'beatable' arguments in order to push his core message.
Bunno wrote:

No not at all. the far right are bullies. they attack the weak and vulnerable under the guise of social improvement. Focusing on Kirk specifically, he and turning point also pushed qanon conspiracies, many of which are dangerous and since his death elevated to being front and centre of Kirk's turning point.
there's a reason the FBI consider the far right as more dangerous > islamic terror or the fake antifa or woke leftist groups like BLM. Jan 6 was a wake up call.
