Yes, normally, but this girl was already depressed, apparently severely; we're not talking about a healthy person committing suicide over this. Everybody seems to have failed her - evidently she was not successfully (if at all) treated for depression; her mother, who was aware of the 'boy' she was contacting online didn't find it odd that he did not have a phone number (neither mobile nor landline) and that he never tried to phone her; obviously the other girl and her mother, who as they had known her for a long time and had been friends surely knew of her history of depression and yet the mother was complicit in this and the ex-friend told her the world would be a better place if she was dead (the ex-friend's mother's complicity is surely a kind of child abuse), and finally she was failed by all the other people that knew about the hoax but did nothing.
