The stupid behavior could easily be from meth. But if he was taking meth its doubtful he has Aspergers. Most Aspies are too little money to buy drugs with. But a severely AS person on meth would be scary as heck! Maybe he was on some psych med his doctor insisted would cure him, but instead he freaked out?!

Its ironic the store banned him. The Bashas grocery store here has a low spectrum autie bag groceries for them and he is freakin belligerent. Like if you ask for paper instead of plastic bags he will start screaming at you and then throw your bread at you. Or at least he did me. How come he can get away with it? I purposely avoid the store as much as possible.

maybe you don't exhibit the facial and body language that has been drilled into him and he regards you as not being 'nice?'

I disagree with you there, lot of aspies do work and live successful lives. Even you have mentioned a while back lot of aspies worked before the condition was even recognized. Now lot of them seem to be more unemployed now these days. I think it's half and half. Lot of them do work and lot of them don't work.

When the guy threw the bread at you, did you even complain to the manager about it?

And aspies can do meth just like anybody else can. Aspies can do stupid things too because they're all human, not different creatures. Besides the article never mentioned he was on drugs so I am not going to even assume it.

I agree, Spokane Girl! I worked for 40 years before I knew anything about my AS. I hang out here a lot, but I still put in 40 hours a week (well, 38.75 hours) for those fun little extras like food and rent and electricity and oh, yeah, internet.

There are people right now, with no idea they have AS working all their lives, married, having kids, taking care of elderly parents. They are not on the computer hanging out in a talk fourm
Don't get me wrong, I love WP and it literally changed my life, but the people on WP is a spit in the ocean of Aspies unawares.

It's kind of interesting how many "punished for Asperger's" threads show up here. :?

Well, it is either a negative Christian thread or a "punished for AS" thread. Oh and "Beat the Republicans" day which actually runs all week.

I think the article is far too unclear. What does 'flailing his arms' mean? Holding his arms above his head and waving them? Flapping his hands? Not nearly enough detail. I nearly got kicked out of a library once because my tics were freaking people out. This world is so goshdarned cruel to us...
