I suppose it depends on motivation for opposing a black Johny Storm. If one is guided by comic book purism - that is, sticking to the Marvel canon of a blond Johny Storm because that's just the way he's portrayed in Marvel holy writ - I can see the argument. But if someone is guided by racial reasons, then make Johny black, so we can rub the racists' noses in it!

According to Marvel canon, Johnny (Human Torch) and Sue (Invisible Woman) Storm are biological siblings.
So, if one was to introduce a *single* black character in The Fantastic Four, it would make more sense to make Mr. Fantastic or The Thing black.
The alternative would be to have *both* Johnny and Sue being black.
Choosing just one of the Storm siblings would break canon (a sin worthy of torture, death and dismemberment - not necessarily in that order - at the hands of Marvel fans).
