So poor people are not supposed to take loans to live like the wealthy....they should stick to their slums and leave good quality of life to the people who deserve it...namely the wealthy elite
Obviously haven't heard of marketing...the rich multinationals and banks (also owned by the wealthy elite) sell things to the poor that they know they can't afford. It's called manipulating vulnerable minds.
That's right.
That's the prescription for over spending.
Live within your means.
I think Kraichie makes a valid point that when you leave wages to market forces that you have exploitation of workers.
:Large Companies are now (in the name of shareholder profits) automate jobs wherever possible (e.g. shopping centres now have self-checkouts, take-aways have self-ordering screens), they move entire sections of their companies offshore to exploit cheap labor and they exploit young people who work on internships or minimum wage). Plenty of stories of people working for companies where they don't get superannuation, back paid due to the company going into receivership and in some industries like motor/mechanics, industrial fabrication and hospitality they don't get paid at all.
The biggest issue is wage stagnation and job cuts which forces people to stay in their jobs and take on more responsibility. This does not generate spending, it results in saving as people have no money to spend and grinding economic slowdown.
The wealthy like Trump spend other people's tax money overseas on luxury goods or hide their wealth on tax havens.
Don't think we are all stupid...we need to kick conservative governments out once in a while so workers can get some quality of life back.
Liberal advocates actually ruin employment opportunities, because of actions like minimum wage, labor laws, business taxes, worker mandates, worker "rights".
In the US, look at what Bernier Sanders did to some workers.
He demanded that Amazon workers have $15 pay per hour. He gave speeches about how evil Amazon is, and proposed an "Amazon tax". Amazon gave in to his demands, now workers get $15 per hour pay, yet, Amazon cut worker lucrative stock and bonus programs.
What a jerk. He thinks himself so smart, and good, yet, he makes working people worse off.
Amazon upping wages to $15/hour, but cuts stock awards, incentive pay

Or is it just business being vindictive and taking it out on their workers that they, the employers, have to respect their rights, pay them a living wage, etc?

People open business to accomplish an idea that they have for themselves, earn money. Jobs are a byproduct of that, so that the goals are accomplished by the business owner. I don't know of anyone who opens a business so that they can keep other people satisfied, other than the service they provide. This idea that business exist so that employees can be satisfied with the wage they get seems so naive.
I don't know of anyone who feels they are paid what they're worth. Maybe some exist, I just don't know them. There's always a trade off. In my line of work corporations get over by hiring less staff, increasing workload and unsafe staffing ratios. So, we do the work of 2 and get paid as 1. Patient care suffers, staff burns out, but it's all about the bottom line. There is no mindless repetition, my brain is working and my body is on overdrive.
Why would it be any different for teller, clerk, food service worker, etc... ? Because you say so, or because it's the right thing to do? Since when has that ever factored in? If Bernie Sanders owned a Hamburger joint, he'd be the cheapest one out there. But, he doesn't. And he makes a killing selling pipe dreams to deluded individuals that really believe business can be strong armed into doing the 'right thing.' They'll just shut down, lay off or go to automation. Then, where would we be? No job and no money...
If a person is disabled and they work, they should be subsidized to allow for a living. If a person isn't disabled, they need a better plan.

Wage fixation is a safety net to protect families from scrupulous business owners.
I do not see what that has to do with the statement. There is a shop in town that I go to. I know who the owner is. If I got a job there, I would know that the owner did not set up his shop for me. I would know he set it up for himself. For himself to make money. That is the no brainer.

But there is wage fixation, you just don't like it.
If a person is happy at their job it's because they've made up their mind to be happy, regardless. The only job I have ever had that paid me decently, did so for a reason. The reason: because patients were dying right and left and nobody would stay. Lesson learned: take the lesser paying job.

Workers are supposed to become second class citizens, without their concerns or livelihood taken into account?

At least in Australia employers are constantly put on notice every election when we get a labour party in power. The union movement has been instrumental in making sure wages stay in tow with cost of living even on behalf of non-members.
As I said before nobody wants to go back to the old days of robber barrons, cartels creating an underclass of child labourers living in a Dickens type sooty industrial hell hole and average life expectancy of 30

In most cases people are what they make of themselves.

No, what you posted is just how the right justifies inequality.

Eventually you'll be the evil person too.
As you must realize that there is some limit to what a business can afford to pay a burger flipper?

As burger restaurants are billion dollar companies, that limit hasn't been reached yet.

There is no such thing as equality. If there was we would all be like drones. That is why the left gets compared to the Borg. The dream of everyone being an indistinguishable clone under the control of the government.
I mean are you saying you should be equal to Stephen King? That it is unfair that he sells more books and makes more money than you?
I guess all the money authors make should go into a mutual pool run by the government and distributed equally. That way the most unpopular author can make the same money as the most celebrated one. That would get the 1% carrying everyone else and what a wonderful world it would be.

What we need is for all that burger money to go into a government controlled pool and be distributed equally, to have equality. That way a burger flipper can make the same wage as a heart surgeon and vice versa.
Also all of society needs to become interracial pansexuals with a universal religion.
In the real world equality is an aspiration and I think you'll find the left only wants "redistribution" of wealth from the unhealthy levels of wealth concentration in hands of a few greedy people.
The British colonial administration actually made this pledge to redistribute wealth when they created the "commonwealth" of nations in order that this aspiration become reality.
Ironically the extreme right is a better example of the borg/group think than the far left (although they are similar). But of course in keeping with your code you never have one bad thing to say about the far right do you Ezra. When the two Nazi teens were running amok in the Canadian wilderness your only response was to express sympathy for the murderers parents despite the fact the father of one of the boys was in contact with them and then tried to make money from the event which sickened the families of the victims.

Your obsession with nazis and a completely different thread does not fit in with this. Also I was not aware that I was required to post that nazis are bad multiple times to satisfy you.
I am not talking about the far left, I am talking to Kraichgauer in this thread about what Kraichgauer said. Or are you saying he represents the far left?
