One place I've never been to----is Cape Canaveral.
When the Apollo missions were happening, it was known as Cape Kennedy.
I wish you would have been able to experience the Moon landings first-hand---but you were too young.
It was really a big deal back then. Kids used to idolize the astronauts.
I've never been there either. The farthest South I've been is Fort Lauderdale, never been to Miami. I don't really have any desire to go to the fancy cities. I do enjoy history and would enjoy Cape Canaveral.
My husband had to help out a sister office in Sarasota, a few years back. Our hotel was on Anna Maria Island, right downtown. So pretty... I was a stones throw from their gulf shores and I hunted shells and walked while my husband was at work. That's the furthest South I've been on the Gulf side. I like doing quiet things on my own, too many people would flip me out. I made friends with a cat and we hung out a lot.
