Calling someone ignorant has evolved over the years into a basic insult on par with calling someone stupid.

The difference is this. Stupidity is a slur (lack of common sense or intelligence)

Ignorance can also be due to not being aware...

And calling someone "ignorant" without supplying information to remedy the supposed "ignorance" makes it a slur rather than an innocent description...or, alternatively, a dismissive way to ignore inconvenient information which the "ignorant" person was conveying because it did not match the bigoted opinions of the person making the "ignorant" claim.

There's a number of contingent assumptions linked to the use of ignorance as a slur. My point is it's not automatic.

I would agree there, but under popular current usage\understanding of the word, the balance of probabilities would indicate it is indeed intended as a slur, with the person making the "ignorant" claim required to prove it wasn't so intended.

I think the dissolution of the popular rhetoric into a slurry of fascist rationalizations is hateful & I know for a fact that it's not a hate crime for my thinking as such to trigger anyone.

I don't want to mince words, supporting a sick regime just to keep some money & guns is just as sick as the regime is.

Adjectives that offend you in particular are not automatically slurs.

An intelligent person can explain their position without having to call someone "ignorant".

Does that mean an intelligent person is obliged to not make that observation when dealing with someone who is grossly misinformed or uninformed? Are intelligent people not entitled to become frustrated with others if they lack knowledge on a topic but insist on commenting on it?

Name-calling is stupid (not intelligent).

Even if you get lazy, frustrated, angry ... Forest will still judge you ...

Arguing about who's stupider must be dumber than name calling or it wouldn't be happening in a thread about antagonistic nationalists feeling victimized by the general public they've been crusading against.

I might remind you that reminding people the degree to which they're being judged isn't really conducive to life as usual in a free country.

Being respectful to your fellow human is always relevant.

So don't elect someone who fails to do that? I got nothing.

It's rude, but not related to intellect at all. Stomping your feet and insisting otherwise won't cause your emotionally driven perspective to become objective fact.

Movie character Forrest Gump saved at least ten people from death when be served in Vietnam.

We need his type of character in today’s world.

My position hasn't changed.

It appears you made some assumptions about my earlier posts without reading them properly, in order to get offended.
