New figures show Italy now has one-third of the world’s total deaths from the coronavirus.

Italy on Tuesday added more than 3,500 new positive cases, bringing its total to 31,506. In addition, another 345 people with the virus have died, bringing Italy’s total deaths to 2,503.

Iranian state media reported Tuesday that the coronavirus that has been ravaging the country could kill “millions” if people continue to ignore health and safety advice.

Iran has been hit particularly hard by the virus, just behind China and Italy in terms of the number of cases and deaths. Roughly nine out of 10 of the over 18,000 confirmed cases of the virus in the Middle East come from Iran.

The death toll in Iran saw another 13 percent increase Tuesday. Health Ministry Spokesman Kianoush Jahanpour said the virus had killed 135 more people to raise the total to 988 deaths amid more than 16,000 confirmed cases.

I gave my son's best Nurse now (not Irene, as she no longer can work for him, it's another lady who is always spectacular too)-- a medium-sized bottle of hand sanitizer since during her last visit she was sad that she had been to different stores and couldn't find any.

She was overly thankful, I was thinking, since it probably won't last more than a week, with her job. I should have bought more actually. She said she doesn't like to only wear plastic gloves and throw them/wash them outside only, since she is used to also washing her hands and using sanitizer for every little thing.

I was actually thankful that she said yes to coming 3 hours on almost every weekday for the next 3 weeks for him. That is something more impressive.

Day One Under Quarantine

IF YOU ARE AN OLDER PERSON, stay home and away from other people.

I am an older person, therefore I am under voluntary quarantine.

s**t just got real. Thanks a lot, Trump.

To those who support him: I hope your guns were worth it.

It seems like you are looking at this through a political lens rather than a coronavirus lens.

I have asked him to take it to PPR, but alas, he won't listen to me.
But then again, no one does.

The only fast food I consider eating is KFC.
And I only buy chicken pieces.

Step 1. Buy KFC chicken pieces.
Step 2. Heat up deep frier.
Step 3. Deep fry the chicken pieces again for one minute.
Step 4. Watch those virus suckers shrivel and die!
Step 5. Remove virus carcases with the use of a microscope and teenie, weenie, tweezers.
Step 6. Have a rest after the ordeal.
Step 7. Enjoy, knowing that no muther effing little virus shite is going to get you.

That's actually very reasonable of you.

What if all the grownups die from this and just the children are left...
Star Trek episode comes to mind.

I remember the episode, I took it for a satire for the 1960s US society.

In reality, it won't happen because of this:

Unless you find anyone under 60 "a child" ;)

No,just those 30 and under. :P

Agreed.
Seriously, I consider anyone under 30 a child.
And the older you get, the older children get, also.
Strange, that.

Some jails are releasing nonviolent offenders to stop spread.I have a family member in the local one. They are not taking on any new prisoner unless it’s a murderer or rapist.Right now they aren’t allowing any visitors and after tomorrow no one will be able to leave money for inmates accounts in person. All the inmates are going to sterilize the jail tomorrow. All court is called off.

I was finally and seriously going to quit WP forever, but today Autism Forums banned me until May 5th, so I guess I'll be coming here until then. If I live that long. :hmph:

I am going freaking nuts. I hate waking up every morning because each day is worse than the previous one. Everything has been or will be cancelled. The Canadian government is planning to use hockey rinks for temporary morgues. We're on the brink of a second Great Depression. The idiots who have bought out half the stores without thinking other people might need supplies. They're also buying large amounts of perishable foods they can't possibly use before it goes bad, like milk. I really hate the fact that I will have to resort to drinking powdered milk even though I bought a small bag of it in late fall put in case of a power outage. The thought of drinking tea with powdered or canned evaporated milk makes me feel queasy. I wonder if that almond milk I've seen that comes in Tetra Paks would be a better choice?

I've never seen anything like it. Not during the SARS or even the swine flu epidemics. It's terrifying the way the whole planet has turned upside down in only a few months. I know if we end up in a post-apocalyptic world it won't be an "exciting adventure" like in a stupid Hollywood movie or a video game. Apparently there are many people who think that it will. Why do people believe they see in Hollywood movies and TV? It's so unrealistic but people believe it's true and get confused when they find out reality is rarely if ever like that.

This pandemic has shown just how moronic, selfish, gullible, xenophobic and generally evil human beings are. I *wish* it would be fun and exciting if most other humans died but if that happens we will all suffer horribly, or more horribly than ever. 90% of us will die in the first month, whether we are on the spectrum or not. There won't be any electricity or heat or air conditioning. No computers, no lights, phones, all the perishable food will rot and even the non-perishables won't keep forever. Pharmacies will be looted an people who need medication won't have access and will suffer horrible withdrawal or die because they need it to stay alive. We can't just pick up a first aid kit and perform self surgery on ourselves to instantly recover like some video game. Many more of us will die of injuries and infections. People will break into our homes and kill us just to steal toilet paper. I never thought I would get sick of hearing of toilet paper. I swear if one more person mentions it I'm going to cram an entire roll right down their throat.

And if that wasn't stupid enough, there are people who think this is all a big hoax and that getting the novel coronavirus is no worse than the common cold. But I guess such blithering idiots will survive without even a sniffle because stupidity creates antibodies. Either that, or even germs can't stand them.

I can't go for ten seconds without hearing about it, and all I hear is terrifying things. All the fears and anxieties I have had about the world ending for half my life are finally coming true. At night I scream over and over. nothing happens. When anyone tries to talk to me I just have a violent meltdown, so I can't talk to anyone. I wish I could sleep and never wake up.

Well, good night.

Goodbye. :(

I bet you a dollar that it won't be nearly as bad as you think it might be.
However, there is a distinct possibility that one *will* be murdered in one's bed by a thief with diarrhea.

Apart from that, I'm guessing we will be laughing about the hysteria in a year's time.
If you are right and I am wrong, I will admit you "won", err. 8O

BTW, why did they ban you? for this sort of post?

^ I feel your frustration. I have a feeling that WP will be an online place for us to vent and to share our fears with each other. In general, I think NTs tend to prohibit what they perceive to be "doom and gloom" talk. I prefer to try to see the positive side of things AND the realistic side of things which can also be negative.

We can support each other in good times and in bad times here.

If you wash your hands thoroughly (2x "Happy Birthday" song), you really don't need alcohol-based sanitisers.
Sanitisers are really there if you don't have readily available washing facilities.
Don't hurt me for saying this. 8O

@ jimmy,

I still can't get your exact type of air purifier online.

What would be the key features I'm looking for in another brand?

I've wanted one for a while because I have a dog and a cat.

Thanks!

I don't think you can eradicate dogs and cats with an air purifier.
And even if you could, it would be against the law. 8O

Have you tried ebay?
I had no trouble getting 2 about 2 or three days ago.

Try this: "OION Technologies B-1000 Permanent Filter Ionic Air Purifier Pro Ionizer with UV"
Or just shorten it to: "OION Technologies B-1000"

It might also help if you Google the supplier I used at ebay: Bonafide Store
2followersbonafide210(23) 100.0%bonafide210 has 100% positive Feedback

yes.

i already wrote in the post that she is used to doing it.

the nurses in hospital are made all throughout their careers to follow this as protocol,
even though they know it's not essential, and therefore she's used to it.
