Many of the pro-black or afrocentrists in the US are fond of reminding us that everyone originated in Africa, that's why I find it odd that so many believe Dolezal can't be black. You cant decide when and whom somebody is African when we are all ancestrally African.

For example this person below is African-American and doesn't need to the NAACP to validate her identity

Not all African Americans are black and if Rachel came from Africa, she is African American. Not all black people are African American either. My uncle is black but he is Jamaican.

Even black people find the term African American problematic. I do too because to me it's inaccurate just like how inaccurate it is to called Native Americans Indians. Indians are people who are from India. It avoids confusion if we just say Native American than calling them Indians. Even Natives object to being called an Indian.

That's much better articulated.

No one would insist he's ethnically English though, even if he identifies as being an English national.

There's a London based comedian named Romesh Ranganathan who's parents are Sri Lankan but insists he is British. He is British because he has spent all his life in Britain, married to an English woman, speaks with a thick local dialect and (most importantly) identifies as British. The English are already a hotch potch of ethnicities so making the claim Lamey can't claim to be English is likewise a "furfy",

African Americans are in a hard place because they are put into a basket because of how they look and how they have been treated. I understand why their identity is important to them. But its not good for their mental health. It's unfair but they need to see beyond labels which have been largely imposed on them.

If I was African American I would piss off every white American and put "American" on their ID, I would tell whites to shove their racial classification up their ass.

Actually, I'd be proud of any African American who put "American" on his or her ID.

The left believes in *inclusion*.

Think you're X, then you're X.

Rachel Dolezal thinks she's X, somehow some of the left want to be *exclusionary* (discriminatory).

Exclusionary in what way? I though inclusion is the mantra of the left

I'm pretty certain the left is inclusive.

So no, we aren't. Just the same BS that's used constantly to deny that the English exist as a people. Because if a nation is formed in a non-immaculate conception, they don't get to exist, or something.

Those are not ethnic groups that exist in England today.

It's all so tiresome.

And yet, the left discriminated against Rachel for being trans-racial.

The left, or the NAACP? It wasn't 'the left' that fired her for lying even if some individual leftists are critical of her attempt to pass herself off as someone she isn't. Other folks on the left basically shrug and think it was pointless to remove someone who's clearly interested in advancing civil rights even if she's got some issues going on.

It appears you're inaccurately trying to paint the entire left as a monolithic bloc on this matter.

Neither the Left, Right, nor Center, has any stand on her race. But American Blacks, as a rule, dont accept her.

Hank Williams Senior wouldnt have accepted me as being "truly country" because I have not "seen a lot of miles over the backside of a mule". In fact I have yet to see even one furlong that way. So [shrug] each group has its own way of admitting entrance to that group.
