The majority of employees would vehemently disagree with you. No brainer.

Wage fixation is a safety net to protect families from scrupulous business owners.

I do not see what that has to do with the statement. There is a shop in town that I go to. I know who the owner is. If I got a job there, I would know that the owner did not set up his shop for me. I would know he set it up for himself. For himself to make money. That is the no brainer.

Workers are supposed to become second class citizens, without their concerns or livelihood taken into account?

In most cases people are what they make of themselves.

No, what you posted is just how the right justifies inequality.

There is no such thing as equality. If there was we would all be like drones. That is why the left gets compared to the Borg. The dream of everyone being an indistinguishable clone under the control of the government.

I mean are you saying you should be equal to Stephen King? That it is unfair that he sells more books and makes more money than you?

I guess all the money authors make should go into a mutual pool run by the government and distributed equally. That way the most unpopular author can make the same money as the most celebrated one. That would get the 1% carrying everyone else and what a wonderful world it would be.

The constitution, which our American ideology is based on, clearly proclaims all people as equals (granted, it wasn't put into practice at the time, but we've since been moving in that direction). We are all of equal worth, and are equal under the law. The right has never been supportive of this or any form of equality, preferring hierarchical societies, whether they be based on a labor/management model, or race, or class. To be against equality is to be against the American ideal.

Yes we are all to be treated equally as far as human life and the law goes. We are not all equal as far as our abilities and willingness to apply ourselves goes. It sounds like you are saying we are all supposed to be viewed as equal along those lines. As in you should be viewed as equal with Stephen King and publishers should pay you in a comparable fashion.

No, I'm clearly talking about equality as human beings of the same worth, and as well as under the law. It's this very concept that the right has always been in opposition to. Hence claims on the right that equality has to be earned - no it doesn't.

Yes they have to evolve from being immersed in identity politics and its biases, tenants and credos to think for themselves independently.

i independently realized that righties who want to perpetuate an unfair regime that systematically prices me out of health care, are at the very least trying to do me dirt, whether or not they will admit to it [mostly they only come clean among themselves, such as when sen. robert packwood said "now that we've killed health care reform, we must insure our fingerprints are not found on the corpse."

You seem to have this ingrained mindset that I am a conservative supremacist. Probably because your immersion in identity politics keeps you from seeing someone who is not a drone of your chosen collective hive-mind in any other way.

And you my friend are the one who is all about tricks and shenanigans.

In what sense? Why is it devolving to expect equality in effort and work ethic? You equate 'pay' with equality, but are fine with claiming that not everyone can perform up to certain standards (but should experience pay equality, none the less). You want equal pay as a participation trophy, of sorts. And that's not the way it works. Workers receive a base salary, commission and raises are seen as incentive to perform better.

What you term evolving, I see as completely irrational. I'm sure a 36 hour worker (or less) would love to make enough money to kick back for the rest of the week. Wouldn't we all. There shouldn't be an incentive to be the least that you can be. Incentives exist to 'out' the over achiever or the one willing to bust their hump. Don't you think it's even the slightest bit weird to scream, "I can't do it, but I deserve to be paid the same as the ones who can?!" Wait, but you just said, we're all equal. "We are only equal in our right to be paid more! We should get a pass for being 'low energy.'

I wonder how you'd feel if the cop you call for assistance was 'low energy.' Or what about the bank teller who posts your paycheck? "I'm sorry sir, but expect a 2 day longer than usual delay because I'm 'low energy.'

This is why 'righties' don't listen to you. You want maximum pay for minimum qualifications and energy expenditure. The battle cry for these 'equality' driven lefties should be, "alright everyone, work slower. No need to set yourselves apart, we're all equals here."

Just out of curiosity do you mean "clone" not drone?

I'm not really part of the hive mind myself given I have no friends

Take it from me...a society that strives to live by Darwinian principles of "survival of the fittest" might be espousing the perfect virtues of rugged individualism (so cherished by you and Ezra) but also seems to underpin the ethos of hunger games or virtual reality games like "Big Brother" where only the strongest get to enjoy the spoils and the rest suffer the humiliation of consolation of life as wage slaves. This is actually ethically and morally indefensible and evidently contradicts the christian ethos of the founding fathers.

Am interesting side story was at the time of signing the declaration of independence, an inalienable declaration was made in the American constitution that;
"All men are born free and equal, and have certain natural, essential, and unalienable rights; among which may be reckoned the right of enjoying and defending their lives and liberties; that of acquiring, possessing, and protecting property; in fine, that of seeking and obtaining their safety and happiness".

The founding fathers were made aware this declaration was incompatible with slavery but Before final approval, Congress, having made a few alterations to some of the wording, also deleted nearly a fourth of the draft, including a passage criticizing the slave trade. At that time many members of Congress, including Jefferson, owned slaves, which clearly factored into their decision to delete the controversial "anti-slavery" passage. Jefferson believed adding such a passage would dissolve the independence movement. Jefferson, decades before the Declaration of Independence, argued in court for the abolition of a slave. The court dismissed the case outright. In writing the declaration, Jefferson believed the phrase "all men are created equal" to be self-evident, and would ultimately resolve slavery. In 1776, abolitionist Thomas Day wrote: "If there be an object truly ridiculous in nature, it is an American patriot, signing resolutions of independency with the one hand, and with the other brandishing a whip over his affrighted slaves."

I pick on Jefferson who was a paedophile and a liar but Washington was also a crook. In order to get around the rule that slaves must be offered their freedom after 6 months of service in the state of Virginia he moved the slaves across state lines and reregistered them as slaves before bringing them back to Virginia,
https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-ne ... 180954283/

So it's a fact that both Jefferson and Washington the founding fathers of the US were also criminals in their own country.

This therefore taints the constitution. We have similar problems in Australia where both the architect of our constitution and our first prime minster were also dishonest men.
