And civilians and children are still being killed in the ukraine, but I suppose a slap incident from two entertainers is so much more important than that.

Idk I just don't really care about it, seems there are bigger issues in the world, why is this the focus when there is a Litteral conflict that could start ww3. No one actually got maimed in the slapping incident...whilst tons of civilians have been killed in the ukraine because putins a f*****g psycho.

And what is the world in uproar about, a dumb slapping incident when ww3 could litterally be around the next corner.

Hmmm...

Good question.

I will...suggest... a possible answer.

"How can you bring World peace if you can't stop a fight between two boys on a playground?" Thats what a lady at a church I used to go to years ago-said to me- when we were talking about church activities to promote peace.

When the "two boys" in question are both massive celebs, and the playground is a massive media event then the two boys become role models for how to resolve conflicts in general- including larger conflicts like -wars in Europe.

So the little incident does have a certain symbolic resonance- that is not unrelated to things like the Ukraine situation.

I think the whole internet discussing something as trivial as this to death is a form of escapism.

Some people are happy to get away from the misery that is happening in Ukraine, I guess.
What is happening there is emotionally exhausting.

That's actually a good question, I haven't quite figured out Chris Rock's motivation? Again it might be wanting to be in the good books with Hollywood. Whatever people say, Will Smith is still an icon.

Including the Germans I understand. Hitler loved Hollywood. He got his favourite photographer Leni Riefenstahl to create films that reminded him of Hollywood epics. Hollywood has been part of global culture since the days of Charlie Chaplin.

I think he did the right thing.
It was only a slap. No broken nose or teeth.
He showed class, imo.

I am sure he regretted someone else writing that joke for him, btw.
And I guess he feels slightly responsible for what happened.

Yes I hadn't thought about Rock being a good christian (there are plenty of Hollywood icons who are practicing christians). However my cynical side thinks he's looking after his career by being exactly how the Hollywood elite expects him to respond.
